Hello all,

I've been enjoying DVDfab for a few years now and have been recommending it to all my friends. However, I've come across a problem with a friend of mine. He bought DVDFab Platinum and installed the CSS version but is having crashing problems.

He is trying to rip Shrek 2 to Ipod mpeg4 format (all settings at default). It starts to do the usual reading of the disc and processing, but ~ 10 seconds in DVDFab just crashes. No error codes or anything, just a crash report that says:

"DVDFab Platinum has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

His machine is almost identical to mine, except that I am running WinXP with SP2 and he is still on SP1. Is that an issue?

Thanks for the update! Though I have also tried installing the latest Beta and it has the same issue. I even went back to the oldest version of platinum I have 4.0.3.2 and it also crashes every time for him.

Is this a hardware compatibility issue or is it more widespread? I ask, because I've had no problems whatsoever doing the exact same movie on my PC with the exact same version of DVDFab.

It is apparently not widespread. Working fine for me on both XP SP2 and Vista 64. Fengtao will have a fix soon.
