| DIVX support in DVDFab Platinum Hi! Recently bought dvdfab platinum (4.1.2.0 ) to rip to my pmp (mobiblu t30). Great product, but can anyone confirm whether it actually supports divx? I searched the forum, and it looks like it doesn't. However, the product page says "Generic: Convert DVD title to MPEG-4/DivX/XVID/H.264 AVI/MP4 file, which can be played on PC." I've only seen xvid in the format options, and my understanding is dvdfab uses internal codecs (though I don't actually have the divx codec installed on my machine). Any suggestions? |

| Re: DIVX support in DVDFab Platinum Why bother when it uses XVid which I regard as a better option?

| Re: DIVX support in DVDFab Platinum I've read on a couple of sites that divx is more compatible with my mp4 player, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Shame they don't support it - they actually list divx under the generic formats... I'm guessing licensing costs would bump the price up. I was hoping it'd solve the problem I was having with occasional bad frames (makes my player skip to the next video). Is there anything I can do while I'm converting to minimise the chances of this? I don't do anything exotic - dvd to xvid with mp3 (400x whatever res). I've been leaving kaspersky enabled in the background - could that be causing it? |

| Re: DIVX support in DVDFab Platinum Quote:
divx is more widely supported in other devices, and is better supported in Vista, than xvid Dixv continues to be developed ( now at version 6.8) whereas xvid seems ot have stalled at 1.3 & finally, as the OP said, dvdfab has claimed for years in its marketing blurb that it does DIVX - so either change the blurb or implement the feature ! | |
