Create a Custom Frame Resolution for Xvid?

Software: DVDFab Platinum 3.0.2.5

Extremely Happy w/ software.
Just tried ripping a DVD to Xvid.
Works great....

Just wondering -
Does it matter what frame resolution I capture at? When capturing tv with my capture card, I use mpeg at 720x480, which is dvd compliant. Xvid on the other hand Is not mpeg, so I'm thinking the res does not matter?

I do not see 720x480 or 640x480 - both of which are ntsc. Are the DVDFab resolutions PAL? Like 768x432?

Thanks -
RjB.
