Re: computer change.

Hmmm...never experienced a problem with the auto retrieval link, have used it about 6 times. Any chance that you tucked away the key somewhere on the hd or a disc...I know you know this, but it's always a good idea.

Just tried the retrieval link...took 50 seconds...worked like a charm. Are you getting an error at all?...any chance you're using the wrong email?

Re: computer change.

harley2ride,

You're right, belarc is awesome, but I don't think it will let you recall the reg key...the serial # yes, but not the key. As least I didn't see it...am I wrong about this?

Re: computer change.

"The Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, missing Microsoft hotfixes, anti-virus status, CIS (Center for Internet Security) benchmarks, and displays the results in your Web browser. All of your PC profile information is kept private on your PC and is not sent to any web server."

You can dl it here .

Re: computer change.

I'm not sure what else to try. I guess you're pretty sure you don't have the key squirrelled away somewhere and you're also certain that your email is correct. Unfortunately, I think you'll have to wait for a response from fengtao. I keep my keys on the hd, discs and I also keep a recently cloned hd ready to go...it may be really anal retentive, but it has kept me out of a whole lot of trouble.

Re: computer change.

MAINEMAN,
yes i think you are right, the thing is that if i go on to there site and buy the two programs again they will have sent the keys before i have time to turn around, they seem to be only interested in new customers and getting money out of them, the lifetime upgrades have gone out the window as soon as you change computers.
still we all have to learn by our mistakes.
any thanks for your help.

Re: computer change.

I think Element5 distributes the keys as they are the funds and download processor. Check your old emails for any from Elment5, you will have to copy & paste the key as the automatic link has probably expired. If you purchased through another processor, you probably will not get a key as they are selling fengtao's products for what appears to be a deal.

Re: computer change.

Hi BIGMACNC,
Have been on to element 5 they said to contact FENGTAO as the keys come direct from them. but as they will not reply there is not much point, still standing still going no where fast.
any other good software out there,? i think it is about time to dump this lot and find a company that will at least reply to ones e-mails. its a shame as i like the software, but no good if you cannot get the backup when you need it.

PS
If anyone pays through Storm Pay you will recieve keys that may work awhile.

If the old computer still runs and you have Windows XP on your new computer, try using the File & Settings Transfer Wizard. Click on start, go to accessories, then system tools where you will find. It is simple to follow just need to connect the 2 computers using one of the methods. Or you may search through your old emails for mail sent from the address that this email originated from.

Also fengtao has a baby and may be reason he has not been around lately. Try sending him a PM.
