Yes, I can confirm that it back up correctly with no errors. After a backup to the computer hard drive (full disc or customize) if you then open the unprotected version on the hard drive, DVDFab reports that the movie is only 21MB in size.

Playing with VLC off of the hard drive is hit and miss. If you select scene 1, it plays thru just fine. But if you select "Play" the movie does not, and VLC crashes.

Burning a copy to disc and playing it on a Panasonic DVD player, shows the same results. Hitting "Play" it jumps to "random" parts of the movie and other special features. Very weird. I sent the logs to Fentago.

I am trying to back up my copies of cloverfield and charley wilson's war with dvd fab 5. No matter what i try it always crashes when trying to open dvd source. I have disabled-enabled and only use when needed pathplayer and nothing works. Version 4.1.2.0 works fine. I have sent the crash log to Fengtao for cloverfield and charley wilson's war.. I'm sure he will solve the problem. He always does. In the mean time is there anything i can do? I tried it with main mode and full and it still crashes

Is pathplayer enabled?

If so, try disabling it.

What are your settings? also did you read all the posts in this thread? post 15 and down to about post 19 are important to read. I made a perfect copy using full disc as default and pathplayer always enabled for cloverfield and charlie wilson's war. EDIT remember this is a Beta so send in the error reports so they can fix the problems.

I have main movie using DVDFAB 5 as the default and it crashed also doing charley wilson's war & cloverfield. Tries to do the open source but always crashes. I sent the crash log for both.

Use full disc as default and you will not get the crash.

Not related to ripping, but gawd what a terrible movie. Ranks up there with the worst movie I've ever seen. After the first minute I was going, "enough with the camera already". Then I discovered the whole movie is that way. Just couldn't hang with it.

The first Blair Witch Project was the same way and I liked cloverfield better than that.

If you actually watched Cloverfield all the way through, you got too much time on your hands!

Just kidding, but man I just couldn't do it! My wife calls me the B movie man with all the movies I watch. This one was even too much "B" (S) for me!

I have to agree with you! I only watched about 5 minutes and was totally nauseated by the bouncing camera.

I clean/installed DVDFAB5. I set the default for main movie and all is well now. Thank you for your help

What about clone? Has anyone been able to clone the dvd for backup?

Thank you Fengtao, I will try it. Just a question, are you planning on updating the 4.x versions to keep up with these issues or is it pretty much end-of-life and we need to move to the 5.x platform?

I haven't upgraded yet, but it seems like the 5.0.1.2 beta will be fairly stable.

v4 is done and May 8 is when the official v5 is released. No more updates for v4 because v5 is the update for it.
