Change Audio Frequency (sampling)

I downloaded the trail version 4.0.2.6 and I really like the application for converting my DVDs to mobile and I am really to buy it but only one problem.

One of my mobile devices (BlackBerry) works better if I use an Audio frequency of 44.1kHZ and I found that all the files created with the current profiles default to 48kHZ and there is no on screen way to change the audio frequency.

So I was looking the profiles directory and found they are XML files and I opened one that is close to what I want (ipod.mpeq4.xml) and inside of the file is a line that shows:

<freq value="48000" list="8000,12000,24000,32000,44100,48000" />

so it looks like I can change the option directly in the file or create a custom.

So I have 2 questions:

1) Why is frequency not an option on the screen, when the XML files shows it?

2) Is is supported if I create my own custom file with the setting I need as the default?

I sent an email to support but the answer I got back just suggested that I use the Configure button but as I mentioned I cannot find any option to change frequency.

Thanks for the help. I am ready to purchase if this works and if not I will continue to a combination of other tools I have that are not as good.

I think it is a question of room on the screen.

Yes, absolutely. I have several profiles that I have done this way, sometimes eliminating all the options except the value I use. In the example above, you could put 44100 as the freq value and eliminate the list values completely. Make sure your player supports the changes as well. You can now make this modified profile a device unto itself and install it into the navigation pane for one-click access. I will post the instructions for this if you are interested.

Thanks, I actually did this last night before I saw your post and it worked great.

I had just begin to figure out how to make my own device but it got too late so I just put it under iPOD for now.

How did you get it to install into the nav pane? Is there another XML file that lists the device types?

Thanks for you help.

Never mind, I figured it out. I never noticed the Custom UI section before.

Thanks for the help.
