Re: Can't do Clone of Training Day

Hi WPWoodJr and welcome to cdfreaks,

Since this is a read error, make sure your version is the most recent. (You didn't say what app or version you're using)
Clean your disc and be certain it is free from any visible defects.
In addtion, try these changes.

In "Common settings" > "Read"
Enable "Ignore all reading errors automatically".
Untick "Enable read-ahead cache".

If your problem persists, it's likely you have a bad disc.

As a last resort you can send the .IFO files to fengtao .
Here's how:

1) Open an Explorer window, and navigate to VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.
2) Copy all files ending with .IFO to hard disk.
3) ZIP the IFO files on hard disk to one file. Name it with a readable filename, eg., To Have and Have Not_R1.zip.
4) Send the zip file to fengtao(at)dvdidle.com, you need replace (at) with @.

Re: Can't do Clone of Training Day

Cleaning the disc worked! Thanks!

2 Questions:

1) does "Clone" leave all copy protection in place on the disc? That is, its really bit-for-bit with all region codes, copy protection, etc included?

2) Does a 100% quality full disc copy just copy the original video files over without re-encoding them?

Thanks very much!! Great product!

Re: Can't do Clone of Training Day

#1 Clone makes an exact copy of the disk, bit for bit
#2 Full disk mode will copy everything, fbi warning & previews which will have all the protection removed

That's great, glad it worked.

1. Well, clone "sort of" makes an exact copy.
No, all copy protection including region coding is removed.
If you think of it this way...in order to rip (decrypt and image the files to another target), the copy protection has to be removed. There's no way to put it back...

2. The short answer is no. For eg., you have the option to burn to a SL or DL disc. I never use this mode.
For more info, take a look at my good friend signals descriptions and tutorials:

Hope this helps.
