How do I get the files needed to troubleshoot and where do I send? The system offers to send for me but I do not use POP mail on this machine.

will other titles work for you?

if you have dvdfab platium 4 and have problems ---go to control panel and delete all files with dvdfab in them--- do not restart pc yet---go to start---click search---click on all files and folders---then type "dvdfab" in all or part of the file name--once it finish showing all dvdfab file delete everything that has dvdfab in it----once done--restart pc---redownload dvdfab platinum only!!!! No dvdfab hd decrypter-- You don't need it!!!-- People, stop trying to drive a car down the street without getting in it first!!! dvdfab is so simple that we think it is hard---open program-- put in hard copy movie---take out hard copy movie after it finishes downloading--put in blank dvd disk click start and call me in the morning...luv to pc'ers

i know you are new, but could you please stop posting that information. you have six post so far and all six are the same thing. this will not solve all problems, please stop posting it. besides where in the control panel is dvdfab?

I downloaded 3.160 as trial and was able to do a few of my kids titles. Then paid for full version and downloaded 4.050 and had miserable failure. Installed 3.160 on top of that installation and used the key they sent to unlock and it worked great on about 10 animated movies (all I am really backing up now since the kids kill these) and then I got to Cars and it would not work. Installed latest version and it worked for Cars but then did not work for Aladdin.

I tried going back to 3.160 and that does not work for Aladdin either. I tried other titles like Ratatouille and they seem to work fine with latest 4.055 version.

kids movies. id bet the disc is scratched causing read errors. really nothing to be done. if you search the forum and google you can find home remedies. in my experience if the disc was too scratched that a simple soapy water and lint free cloth could not fix, then the home remedies didnt work either. maybe try your local video rental shop. many of them have disc cleaning machines.

dvdfab settings Reading Error Control. you could set retry times to three or higher and skip sectors at 64, also uncheck read ahead cache.

I don't think it is a dirty disk.

I just borrowed a much cleaner copy (almost new) and I am still having problems. It started fine, but after a few minutes I got a DVDFabPlatinum window that says "No media detected in drive E: Please insert a compatible media to start the write process"

It works fine with other disks.

This is one of my daughter's favorite disks so I'd really like to back it up.

I had a DVD that gave me the same message, and it looked clean and no scratches I later found out that it had some fingerprints on it they are hard to see sometimes with the way light reflects of the disc

thats a good messge! if you see this then the rip was good. now you need to insert a blank dvd and burn.

Okay, it worked! I was so used to failed attempts I had tunnel vision and was just trying to get it fixed.

Aladdin is copied and my kids are happy again. Happy kids = happy Daddy!

I think Path Protection might have had something to do with the problems? I am not sure.
