I am using DVDFab platinum and trying to backup Bordertown. At first it was working, then stopped and said I needed to enable Pathfinder. I did enable it and backup started, 87% in, and everything just stopped. The timer kept calculating, but there was nothing happening.

Out of frustration I just canceled and opened up ripit4me which backed it up with no problem.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but maybe you guys can figure it out.

Sounds like a bad disk, some little glitch on the disk. I had one this last week. "All In". No problem with copy protections and even with ignore all errors checked, it would not copy past 50%
I did backup "Bordertown" without any problems at all.

The burn log would help us figure out what was going on as I too backed up this copy with no problems using the last Beta version of Platinum

I don't think the disc was defective because ripit4me backed it up without a problem. Also can you please give me the steps to show the burn log. I haven't done that before. Thanks.

Please post a couple of items from the burn log, which can be found at C:\Documents and Settings\..username...\My Documents\DVDFab\Log\DVDFab_burn_VSO.log. This is a text file that you can open with Notepad and copy and paste a few recent entries into a reply post.

Didn't see what I was looking for, are you in the packet writing mode or the SAO mode ?

SAO because when I was using packet writing, a couple of the movies would burn successfully but would not play in the player, those being Harry Potter 2007 and bordertown. So someone suggested to switch to sao mode and I did.

Unfortunately, the burn process never really started, so the burn log is not of any use. The blank discs should still be usable at this point.

I see that you've tried to rip the movie with PP enabled and disabled and that you are using SAO and that ripit4me was successful .

Re: the rips done with Fab, are the files complete?...are you able to view the movie from the hdd?
Does the rip fail consistently with Fab?...I'm a little confused...I see where it stopped without PP and again at 87% with PP.
Did the failures occur at the same point in the rip?
The burn process which never really started, should not have even opened if the rip failed.

To be honest with you I'm not really sure. I know that I had to restart DVDFab with pp enabled because the first try was not successful. I did try the DVDs that were unable to be played on my DVD player on the computer and they were not burnable again. The whole space was used up for some reason but there was nothing on there. Odd right?

Did anyone ever get a good copy of this one? I am having trouble backing up with DVDFab. I'm encountering the same exact problem that the original poster had. Maybe this one has some new encoding?
