Blu-Ray Rip to M2T file

I have not yet purchased a blu-ray or HD-DVD PC drive but will soon.

After purchasing a regular DVD, it is common for me to use DVD FAB to rip, then another program to combine everything into a single .MPG file.

Can the same be done for Blu-ray or HD-DVD (probably a MP4 or M2T file). that way I can place it on my Sage server for playback.

thanks!

Re: Blu-Ray Rip to M2T file

As of 3.1.5.0 the only options offered for HD DVD and Blu-ray are a simple rip to disk. No re-coding is enabled. Which is a shame, because I would like to recode my HD disks to a hi-def .avi with none of the opening previews etc, so I can serve them up via my Windows MCE system. I have kids in my home, and want to make my movies available to the family for easy access/viewing - while still keeping my "masters" (the original disks) locked up, safe from harmful little hands (at $30.00 a shot who wouldn't?).

Another sad fact (at least for now) is that DVDFab HD doesn't work on the majority of Blu-ray disks I own. Actually, it is yet to work on any Blu-ray disk I own. The HD DVD rip does work, but is PAINFULLY slow, averaging .56 mb sec. Because of this, sadly, I have uninstalled DVDFab from my system (for now). But am keeping a watchful eye on the downloads section. It has been a while since a new release - and given the dizzying pace of releases prior to this, I suspect they are "hacking away" at some MAJOR bugs right now.

My guess is that the next release will address several of these major issues... (fingers crossed)

Meanwhile, SlySoft's product rips EVERY HD DVD and Blu-ray I have thrown at it, and it rips the average hi-def DVD in under an hour! Averaging over 8.5 mb sec.

It isn't as pretty, or feature rich, but for hi-def AnyDVD **ROCKS**.

Still I desire and want as many products out there as possible, and happily support and wait for the fixes for DVDFab HD.

All eyes are on you guys, and we're root'in for ya!

:-)
