Best DVD Copy Program?

What is the best DVD copy program out there? I don't want to compress the movie onto one disc because I want to retain perfect PQ. I would either split the DVD onto 2 discs or copy onto a Dual Layer disc. I don't mind paying for it.

Thanks.

Hi James,

Do you have to do cross-post to promote product? This is DVDFab forum, and customers want solution based on DVDFab.

DVDFab Gold can do split and DL burning perfectly, and no other program splits better than DVDFab Gold.

Best Regards,
Fengtao

@ trilite,

Being a register AnyDVD- CloneDVD user for over 2+ years I can attest for the easy of use and excellent performance of the AnyDVD-CloneDVD software combination.

Suggest visiting SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and download a copy of the latest versions of AnyDVD-CloneDVD.

Below is a Forum link for an AnyDVD-CloneDVD user tutorial that provides detail information on the use of these software products.

If you desire additional information the CD Freaks Forum also has an AnyDVD Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=88) and a CloneDVD Forum (http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=74).

Please accept my apology, this was a mistake. I was just clicking on "Best DVD Copy Program?" in the "Latest Post" column in the "Copy DVD Movie" forum, I didn't notice being dragged into DVDFab forum.

Re: Best DVD Copy Program?

Hi James,

That's no problem

In my options, both DVDFab and CloneDVD are great program. Now we together fight with the big guys, to crack the latest DVD movie protection, so based on "enemy's enemy is my friend", we should be friend, right?

Best Regards,
Fengtao

Re: Best DVD Copy Program?

I've had 3 disk that CloneDVD, ANYDVD both latest version was UNABLE to back up whereas DVDFAB had no issues. Having said that, I still like DVDSHRINK's menu's better.

I'm curious at what compression rate will a movie noticably bad, like a vcd quality. I also wish I could pick my own compression rate like Shrink/Recode.

I've always heard that anything less than 50-60% won't be noticable on a regular TV. Any greater than that and you will ses a hit on quality.

I don`t think so...
I don`t think DVD Shrink can backup new"SONY ARccOS" protection
You still need "DVD Region+CSS Free" or "AnyDVD"

Re: Best DVD Copy Program?

To "Fengtao".....glad to see your understanding of the slysoft poster - I think they have edge at the moment with the anydvd/ clonedvd2 combination. But Fab is a winner, but strange have never seen you post in the Fab official forum...which by the way isn't working too well at the moment(actually not working). Are you "admin" (fab official forum poster) in disguise, or do you only cover the fab forum on cdfreaks? Either way, would be nice to have offical forum working properly. thanks.

i made a backup today with dvdshrink and latest anydvd of "Sky High" protected with Arccos

Quote:
5.6.1.1, 2005 11 27

- New: Added detection and removal of a new type of protection
"MacroVision RipGuard" as found on "Madagascar WideScreen" R1 (US)
or "Vet Hard" R2 (Netherlands) to the option to remove
"Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
Note: RipGuard could be copied together with elby CloneDVD2 since
AnyDVD version 5.4.1.1, but this new version supports drag and drop
of all files from DVD to harddisk as well!
- New: Added support for a new version of the Sony Arccos protection
as found on "Seinfeld Season 6 Disc 3" R2 (German) to the option to
remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"
- New: Information Window now shows MacroVision RipGuard, if it was
detected.
- New: Information Window now displays, if "Error zones between files"
have been removed, like on "Resident Evil - Apocalypse" R1 (US)
hope this post is ok as its the dvdfab forum.

Re: Best DVD Copy Program?

Using CSS+Region Free, I used Nero 7's Nero Recode to backup most of my DVD's. Nero Recode works flawlessly with CSS+Region Free, and allows me to backup either the entire DVD including menus and extras or just the main movie. For the entire DVD I use a Dual Layer disc and haven't had any problems yet. I've even backed up some very recent movies like "Batman Begins" "Sky High" "Stealth" "Fantastic 4" all with no problems or issues. I'm very impressed with CSS + Region Free and it's compatibility with Nero. I use Nero almost everyday for different tasks, and I find it very convenient to be able to backup my DVD's with the software I am most familiar with.
