Re: Audio Sync issue

Hi Ting,

I tried Ratatouille with 5.0.1.5 and still get the audio about 80ms ahead of the video. I installed the beta, rebooted, tried two pass then one pass. I tried on my dual core machine then moved it to the back room and tried on a single core machine and all about the same. The dual core was dramatically faster though. Then just to assure myself I tried it on brand X and the a/v sync is perfect. I found no improvement, I hope others have better luck.

Re: Audio Sync issue

Poor Ting--he has worked so hard on this. I hope he doesn't do anything rash. My tests show sync on (anyvideoi)+MP3 is perfect, audio almost imperceptibly ahead of video on everything I have tried with AAC. But who could notice it on a 2.5" screen?!?

I know, I hate to report this but it is what it is. I forgot to indicate that I was using the PSP 3.30+. Almost one second is hard to miss, that's worse than an old kung fu movie!

Re: Audio Sync issue

Ah, check me on the math: 80ms=.08s, 800ms=almost 1 second. The threshold of perception for A/V sync is supposed to average 200ms if I remember correctly.

Not sure enough to argue the point and lack the strength of my conviction in any case LOL! I stand corrected. It's nearly one second.

Re: Audio Sync issue

No, I think you are right about the delay. I have estimated it in the past at 800-1200ms, about your estimate. But I am not seeing anything close to that now. Nothing on MP3 and just barely of notice with AAC. I don't have an iPod, so I play back the iPod tests with VLC on my PC. I have not tried any of the audiocopy profiles yet. I don't use them because they make the files so big.

Re: Audio Sync issue

hi,

I do a test for Ratatouille by using PSP 3.30 firmware, but my sync is perfect, I cannot hear any delay about it.

so maybe need more test for the new a/v sync logic, if you have any problem please tell me.

Thanks.

Re: Audio Sync issue

Ok I've tested for two days now, and the only way I can make the a/v sync good is to start on chapter two then it is fine. If I start at the beginning it's off and never gets better. I would think it's my original were it not for two other encoding programs I keep in my tool box that do it perfect from start to finish? It's no big deal and the new version does the other movies that gave me trouble before so I'm not complaining.
