Adding subtitles to a DVD

This is a weird question, but I will let it fly anyway.

Is there a way using "merge" to add subtitles track to a DVD?

Does anyone know of a program that can take the subtitles and edit them?

What I am trying to do is take my DVD collection and add Chinese subtitles to it for my wife. If I could find a program that lets me take the English subtites and edit it to maunally (line by line) replace the English with chinese and reload it to the dvd using "merge".

Hi flopguy. Merge mode is designed to manipulate DVD titlesets and won't be able to help you with your task. You can use DVDFab Customize/No Menus or Main Movie modes to force Chinese subtitles to always display if they are already on the disc. Many Korean-produced DVD releases have Chinese (pictogram, not pinyin) subtitles even on the NTSC versions. You can sometimes find them on ebay or amazon. There is probably software out there that will allow you to do this but I wouldn't know hwere to tell you to look other than google. Hope you can find something.
