3:10 To Yuma

Hey guys im hoping you can help me out with this.
I was able to back up the movie"3:10 to Yuma" , but when I copied the movie on to disk and started the movie, I noticed that the movie didnt start at chapter one like it was supposed it. It starts at chapter 2. I even tried viewing the movie directly from the HDD and had the same problem. Has any one had this problem?

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

@seanjohn1

What mode were you using - Full Disc, Main Movie, or Customize?

If you used Full Disc, did you check "Jump to main title when inserted"?

If you used Customize, which did you have checked -- "Preserve menus" or "No menus, play the titles continually"?

Hi seanjohn1 and welcome to the forum. Did you have pathplayer enabled ? And if so, did you have checked the jump ahead box ? ~ Mike

Some people own video stores and get movies early, so what if they buy an extra copy for themself. Also theres a online store, forgot the site, that sometimes get the movies early but they cost more.

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

I'd bet my 2cents the OP is not a video store owner, but most likely he's got himself a bad download....
I doubt a video store owner would be asking ,"how to backup/copy a flick, let alone one that hasn't been released yet.....
unless maybe he offers, buy/rent one get 3 free backups....I don't think so but nice try!......

Ridiculous, (IMO). So stock magically apppears in their stores overnight? So, if this is so, from where does the stock come - some distribution centre somewhere! Are they not allowed it either?

Unreal!

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

Hi Seanjohn1. I'd try disabling Pathplayer and see what happens. I know sometimes it cause more issue's than help. Espcially if it's not a new movie. ~ Mike

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

Some online services send new releases out early so customers will recieve them on time and people just happen to get them a few days early.

Sometimes a store makes a mistake and puts it out early. This happens often at warehouse clubs like Costco and Sams Club.

What does it matter anyway? Why do you care?

Where is it illegal? Maybe they breach the commercial agreement with the studio/distributor, but that is not a crime; it's an action in equity (which the studios obviously couldn't give a rat's about or else they'd sue or withdraw/delay distribution). I truly wonder about how many legal pronouncements are made on this forum by non-lawyers, many of whom are just peeved that they can't get their hands on a DVD a few days early and that constitutes the "end of the world".

And anyway, if it's limited distribution to the store owner/staff as opposed to distributing early to the public, where's the damage? Certainly not enough for the studio/distributor to care about.

I do hope people can stop whining about this. A member has come here for help and there's no evidence that he has downloaded the DVD - so, subject to the moderators' input, let's help him, if we can, instead of watching our calendars enviously.

Regards

Then, let me you a question Pythonis if you are so worried about what is illegal or legal, right or wrong as you say you are Why are you even here?

While, it is legal to backup dvds you own it is illegal to break the copy protection so techinally you are breaking the law.

You are just mad because you can't get dvds early so you whine about it and get mad at people who can.

It's not just you who does this I'm just so sick of people whining about this crap all the time. A person comes here looking for help we should be trying to help him instead of whining "he got it early".

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

what i was posting about is why are all these movies being released early? rush hour 3 and the kingdom were scheduled for dec 26 release but they came out on the 19th. war and resident evil 3 were scheduled for jan 2 but came out jan 1. now 3 10 is scheduled jan 8 but now apparently its "LEGALLY" out on dvd on the 4th. can we no longer count on the posted release date to be true? are we gonna have to start hanging out at our local walmarts and blockbusters to make sure we dont get left out of the loop? i could care less if he got 310 to yuma early legally. dont give two you know whats about the movie. my point is that i go through these forums and i see somebody with like 3 or 4 total posts asking a question about a movie theyve acquired. someone (in most cases) accuses the person of illegally downloading the movie. why? because it aint out yet. then i go and see someone with 5000 posts ask the same thing and its "oh he must be a video store owner". give me a break.

and if backing up my dvds is illegal (not saying it isnt) then i know a lot of people (more than likely) including yourself "sneakers" who are just as guilty as i am.

ok from now on i say ask no questions about how or where the poster got their movie from. we are only here to help. after all, if we dont know his movie is illegal then helping wont be illegal either, right? ignorance sure is bliss.

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

but i will make a point to call the movie industry and ask them if video store owners are allowed to open and sell/keep dvds theyve had shipped to them before the official release date. i know that in my state (for example) when halo3 came out if any of the blockbuster employees were caught opening even just the shipping box they were automatically terminated.

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

First of all there's no whining on my part, there's no"watching our calendars enviously. I doubt anyone here really cares where the OP acquired it,including myself....As always I put my 2cents and opinions, and occasionally some help..But that's my choice to help or not.
That hardly constitutes whining..If you're "sick of people whining about this crap all the time" then give the guy some help and stop bashing others for there opinions. Or go somewhere else like Digital Digest and ask blu, how to rip/backup your flick, good luck with that.
I don't care if the mods don't care....
JM2cents!!.....

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

i guess i should not but in but here is what i know, my sister works retail and they usually receive new releases at least 2 weeks prior to release date but if they sell prior to release date they will be heavily fined. i have no clue how that is inforcible but it is a chain she works for. also friends i have that have worked for blockbuster, that is an employee perk, they get new releases to watch prior to release date.

Are you referring to the DVD of the (not-yet-released-to-DVD) remake of "3:10 to Yuma" or the DVD of the 1957 version ?

Yup, the discussion concerns 3:10 To Yuma due for release in the US on 01/08/08.
My 2 cents on all this...
I do find it a bit peculiar to ask for help on a "unreleased" disc.
I know a few members here on cdf that work at BlockBusters and have access to soon-to-be released flicks, but I don't think the OP's gonna get much help from the vast majority of members...

IMHO, this is much ado about nothing. Why would anyone care so much about early releases. It happens, so what? Basically i agree with Sneakers and Blutach.
This thread is about the dvd and how to rip it. It would be nice if we could stay on topic.
