pixar movie backup help for xbox360 stream

ok, heres the deal. i am trying to stream movies to my xbox 360 for a couple of reasons. 1 so my son can watch elmo, disney, etc movies on the fly cause we all no how long thier attention span is. 2nd is to save my dvd's cause for some reason he is fascinated on sliding them across tables/floors. and 3rd, if i can get this to work, it would be nice to have an on demand video collection.

as a precurser, i have backed up star wars ep 2 and gone in 60 seconds and i can stream to the 360 with no issues. what i have done is rip just the main movie, keeping 1 angle and ac3 5.1 sound. thats all i want/need. picture looks great and sound is good as well. so now on to my sons movies.

i rip toy story 2 and try and try but cant get this to work. for instance, in the first couple of minutes when the dinosaur is playing the video game, there is a part where buzz gets to the battery, but what happens is that the scene gets skipped. i have tried everything and even bought dvdrmake pro trying to get this to work. happens on toy story 1 as well, just about at the same time also. so it looks like pixar has some kind of jump or something in thier protection???? I dont know, still to new at this. if anyone can help here it would be great, and much appreciated.

on a side note, if i rip and burn they work fine in a stand alone player. if anyone has these movies can they possibly check pgc's cell's etc to see what its doing
FYI, these are all store bought original dvd's.

thanks,
vinnie

Re: pixar movie backup help for xbox360 stream

just found something out. i know some of you do not do this and cant really see what im talking about but i found a way to recreate this. if you play the file with windows media player (im at 11) the skip happens. with nero showtime, it plays fine. but media center i believe uses wmp so i have no work around and therefore need to understand how wmp reads the file and why it has a hard time with it, hope this helps someone help me

What region is the Toy Story 1 & 2? Is it a multi-angle DVD?

What software (version) do you use to rip the DVD with? I assume you just rip the main movie only.

I personally don't use WMP to play DVD. Can Media Center be configured to use different software player other than WMP?

Re: pixar movie backup help for xbox360 stream

these are region 1 dvd's.
toy story 2 is a multi angle dvd. i havent tried TS1 in a while as it is over at my parents from the last baby sitting.
i am using dvd decrypter 3.5.4.0, i have tried ripit4me, dvdfab decrypter, etc. no luck
i also tried the latest vtsfix and vobblanker as well.

i have tried ripping the main movie, all, ripping by stream...no joy

as for using something else besides wmp, i dont know. my xbox connects to my mce machine and streams the movie from there. so not sure exactly how it all works. but it is something i will look into

Re: pixar movie backup help for xbox360 stream

hmm, I have the original 2-disc set of Toy Story 1 & 2 Region 1 as well. Toy Story 1 is a multi-angle DVD (there are 3) and Toy Story 2 has a wide/full screen selection (not a multi-angle). Both just have the normal protections easily decrypt by Decrypter 3.5.4.0. No need to run through DRMPro.

Did you rip in IFO mode in DVD Decrypter? If so, and there's no problem playing in Showtime and stand alone but in WMP, then your WMP is buggy.
