Learning more features

I've been trying to learn more of DVDReMake. I can now delete or hide small sections as well as leaving out certain files completely. What I having difficulty understanding is the portion related to chains. What do you do there? I get the impression that the number of chains relates to the number of chapters in the video. Is this correct?

Re: Learning more features

If you mean Program Chains (PGCs), then a PGC is any bit of video that is comprised of cells containing video. These might be parts of a menu or separate titles. Titles do not have to be in a single PGC - they may be spreads over lots and lots (this is not the norm though - most titles are contained in a single PGC).

For more info, read this.

Also see the DVDRMP help file:

Quote:
  • Each Video Title Set can contain one or more Program Chains (PGC). These PGCs contain the video, audio and subpicture streams that make up the titles of the disk.
  • VM commands in a PGC can access any other PGC in the same VTS. It can also access the named menus in its VTS.
  • VM commands in any VTS PGC can access a VMG menu PGC. The VMG is often used to navigate from one VTS to another.
  • Selecting a PGC in the DVD Tree opens it in the PGC View.
Regards

Re: Learning more features

Thanks for the reply but knowing this now what can I do with this information? For instance can I delete one piece of video or move chaper pints etc?

Re: Learning more features

Yep. Whatever you see in the context menus when right-clicking on an item is what you're allowed to do. Sometimes there's a simple series of steps to accomplish the task depending on what you want to do.
