editing dynamic menu with a DRM pro

Hi there
Using DRM Pro 3.1.4. Have read forum manual about editing dvd menu and replace still images. Works fine.

Now would like to edit a menu with a dynamic background. I do the following:
extract menu from the dvd with dvdreauthor and got .m2v file of the menu.

made changes in the Adobe premiere pro.

using muxman created a new vob file.

Now, how to put this menu back to the dvd (replace old menu with a new version of the menu?)

if i made this using 'replace with a still', got the new still menu. How to get new dynamic menu?

Re: editing dynamic menu with a DRM pro

Your version is outdated. Please go to your account and get DRMPro 3.3.1.

You would use 'Replace block' for this. Your replaced motion menu needs to have subpicture layers for the button highlights when you're muxing it. You may also need to import the original button sets and color schemes. The order of the values in the color schemes may change depending on the authoring software used to create the menu, so you may have to modify it as well.

Re: editing dynamic menu with a DRM pro

tx for your answer.
I have exported buttons to mbl file, color schemes and CLUT.
Now i used "replace block" function as you described.
during replacing block got the
"Replace block (PGC) >> different streams (610:PgcProgramsView.cpp)" message.
Then, i've imported buttons, color schemes and CLUT back in DRM.
Stuff looks well in the prview window.
But after i created test dvd, got a motion menu without any buttons. Even clicking on the button areas does nothing. So i missing something ...

What i am doing wrong?
Could you explain bit more on this "subpicture layers for the button highlights"?

tx in advance

The message indicates that the replacing block's stream attributes (video/audio/subtitle) are different that of the original's. You can ignore if you think they're ok, particularly audio and subtitle, but not video. Video aspect ratio must match with the original.

You do not have to import/export the original CLUT, unless you like to use the replacing block's CLUT.

What you are missing is the subpicture layers for the button highlights. Perhaps more reading will help you understand better:

Re: editing dynamic menu with a DRM pro

tx for your quick replay!

i read the topics you recomend, tx again, now this is became more clear for me.

unfortunetly still can't have the modified menu to work
So i've decided to walk step by step: check myself and replace block not with a modified menu, but with a original menu (this is just to clarify that i doing everething ok)

Here are my steps:
Step 1 extract data:
1. Exctract the the original motion menu(to m2v and ac3 files) from the vob file with a DVD reathor.
2. Extract subpictures to bmp file using SubRip (using description from the http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=99306)

Now we need to mux new vob file, so DRM could replace a block
Step2:
1. i've created sst file
Quote:
st_format 2
Display_Start forced
TV_Type PAL
Tape_Type NON_DROP
Pixel_Area (2 574)
Display_Area (0 2 719 574)
E2 (255 255 255 = = =)
E1 (0 0 255 = = =)
PA (0 0 0 = = =)
BG (255 0 0 = = =)
Directory .
Color (1 1 1 1)
Contrast (0 0 0 0)
1 00:00:00:00 00:01:00:00 SUB.bmp
#
2. mux a new vob(like described in the http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=99306)files, then
here is log file of the MuxMan:
Quote:
MuxMan version 0.15M
Opened script file 111.mxp
Accepted video F:\replace\m01_v004c001.m2v size = 10103084
Accepted audio F:\replace\m01_v004c001_80.ac3

14:50:21 Begin multiplex VTS01.
Title Segment List
Segment_1
Encoded stream 20 is script stream 1.
Maximum audio duration 1750 fields.
new graphics buffer size 414720.
SPU buffer size 8192.
Starting scene Segment_1_scn1 at 00:00:00:00
SeqEnd at 9A2928.
Bytes remaining in buffer = 0.
Bitrate - avg: 8394352, min: 8157866 (lba 2898), max: 9389292 (lba 4846).
Shortest GOP has 2 fields, longest GOP has 24 fields.
Fields: 502, VOBU: 21, Sectors: 5144.

14:50:21 Begin multiplex VMG.
14:50:21 End multiplex.
new vob created!

Step 3:
in DRM
1. Import DVD
2. Export buttons and color schemes
3. Replaced block with vob from step 2
4. Imported back buttons and color schemes
5. Created test dvd

Now in Power DVD have the same motion menu as in original disc, but still no buttons ...

To check the subpictures i've exctracted them using SubRip from the muxed vob file, and they are ok ...

What i doing wrong now?

Re: editing dynamic menu with a DRM pro

Take alook at highlight start/end time (PGC view/buttons pane). Make sure that highlights are on (i.e. highlights end is not 0).

Re: editing dynamic menu with a DRM pro

tx, found the issue. After replacing block Post Command was wrong set to PGC 4 instead of PGC 5.
