Re: DvdReMake Pro memory usage (Vista x64)

PgcEdit does not handle VOBs. It is basically an IFO editor and does what it does immediately. Comparing DVDRMP to PgcEdit is incorrect. Comparing it to VobBlanker is better, but still not right, since VobBlanker can't do ILVUs or merge discs (but can replace cells and PGCs etc)

Well, of course you have to use the "FixVTS"-Option to strip all unneeded material.

PgcEdit has not all functions of DVDRMP, but it does, what it should be. Strip audio/subtitle-titles, and/or some menu cells. I love it

The point is, that DVDRMP just suck under Vista32/64 regarding the Export-speed and Memory usage.

Re: DvdReMake Pro memory usage (Vista x64)

PgcEdit does not strip audio or subtitles (it can only remove their references from the IFOs). It can remove unwanted cells from the IFOs (after which FixVTS or VobBlanker can clean up).

To strip audio or subtitle streams, you will need another application.

Make your point about memory usage, by all means, but fgs, stop talking about things you do not know.

Yes, I KNOW *damnit* Once again, for this you have to use third-party-tools via PGCedit-menu.

I'm glad that you know these things. It's just you didn't express them correctly or make valid comparisons.

PgcEdit's version 9 will have some very snappy new features.

Re: DvdReMake Pro memory usage (Vista x64)

I am a heavy user of DVDRemake Pro and use the following system:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6850 3GHz 1333MHz 4MB LGA775 CPU
- AENEON / SUPER TALENT 8GB DDR2 800MHZ PC-6400 (4 X 2GB)

And have no problems exporting. It could be a combination of several things some of which you may try:

1) buy more memory (Vista 64 can support 8GB RAM; Vista 32 cannot)
2) increase the amount of virtual memory on your machine (your page file);
3) load your paging file onto a different drive than that being used to store/edit your video with DVDRemake
