Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

this might be a long shot, but the program could have created some kind of structure problem or shrink is just too out of date to work with remake's output files.

try running the files through VOBBlanker (no settings, just select input, select output then click process) or FixVTS or some program like that...

use the processed files then try to open them in shrink.

if this doesn't work then there is something wrong with the files themselves that can't be just patched up.

i'd make a short test disc if this doesn't work just to make sure yu're ding things correctly as opposed to doing it ALL over again and coming out with the same result.

If you forgot your username and password, then click on "I Forgot my account info" at http://www.dimadsoft.com/login.php. You'll be asked to enter your email address and city of birth at time of registration. Your Dimadsoft account will be email to that email.

Why would you ask if you need the Pro or Regular version for what you wanna do? If you have bought one, don't you know what you have? The free update either for Pro or Regular will be what you have paid for.

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

Then email DimadSoft ( dvdremake at dimadsoft dot com) regarding your problem with reference to this thread. Include the email address that you said has been deleted. To verify your identity, if you did pay via Paypal include your name and paypal email address. Your Paypal account should have a payment history that you can use for verification. If you pay by other means, then include the necessary info.

If verification fails, I'm afraid you have to purchase again, the Regular can do what you want. But you may need to do some advanced editing later on like the version you have now, so the Pro is better in the long run. cdfreaks has a 5% discount if you click on the banner ad on top of this page.

I dont really want to spend that much money again but if I just get the regular version, you said it will do what I want. But all I want to do is to edit the menu's text so what do you mean I "may need to do some advanced editing later on"? And besides upgrading can you guys think of any other way because I dont want to upgrade and then find out that I didnt need to. Thanks

Also I am not seeing a 5% discount at the top of the page. The banner I see is a Ridata banner, not a dvdremake one.

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

You will find a big difference between Regular and Pro. In Pro, switch to Easy Mode in the toolbar, this will give you a Regular version. You will not have access to individual PGC and its commands. Advanced editing includes modifying how the dvd is played, adding/deleting/modifying VTS/PGC/Titles/commands, enabling added audio/subtitle tracks, and more. Think about what you want to do in the future, but as of this project Regular version will do if all you do is just changing the menu text.

As for upgrading, this is up to DimadSoft's decision. There's a general upgrade policy should you want to upgrade later. Check your PM.

The banner does rotate to advertise other products. Here's a direct link for cdfreaks: http://www.dimadsoft.com/order.php?rfr=cdf

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

This is absurd. I was able to edit one set of dvd's but not another set. I just bought the pro version of dvdremake 3.5 and everything works fine except when I try to use DVD Shrink. DVDremake doesnt seem to be the problem. I export my edited dvd and try to create an ISO to burn with DVD shrink and this message pops up. This is the first dvd it has happened with. I have edited and burned a previous set of dvds just this morning but when I tried to edit and use dvdshrink and then burn this new disc, this dvd shrink message popped up: So does anyone else know what can be done? Maybe another program besides dvd shrink can do the same thing, create an ISO image so I can burn with Clone DVD.

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

Do you get this error before using DvdReMakePro? Just open the source with Shrink.

What is the name of the DVD (include region)? What program and version do you use to rip it?

There is not really a name of the dvd, its just a created dvd that was sent to me by a friend with different recorded TV shows on it. I have tried importing the dvd to dvdremake pro 3.5 and I get no error messages until I use dvdshrink. And even if I dont use dvdshrink, and just try to burn the exported edited dvd files directly with clonedvd2, I get the same error message. I dont know what is wrong. Also I dont know what reigon the dvd is. And what do you mean open the source with shrink?

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

Also let me say that sometimes when I try to "replace the menu with still image" in dvdremake, I get an error report saying DVD remake needs to close. I think this is happening with this set of dvd's because it is a video menu and I want to change it to a still menu, so maybe that is why I am having these problems, I dont know. But here is a screenshot of the error report. Also has anyone done what Dimad said

ImgTool Classic will do just that: http://www.coujo.de/ib2/index.php?a...l_name=download

I havent tried it yet, but would someone be able to help me by giving me a step by step guide for this program, all i want to do is to the same thing dvd shrink does. Create an ISO so I can burn with clone dvd. Thanks

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

I think I might have an idea what the problem is because after I exported the dvd with dvdremake, I looked in the destination folder and the file that is being question by dvd shrink is Video_TS and it has no value, it is 0kb. So I dont know what is going on but any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Do you get any message when you try to burn the original with CloneDVD or when you create the ISO with DVD Shrink? Do not involve DvdRemake Pro so to eliminate this factor.

btw, you do not have to use DVDShrink to create the ISO and burn it with CloneDVD. CloneDVD accept DVD files.

From the file image, where are the IFOs and BUPs? There are only VOBs. Did you filter them? DvdReMake does not create 0KB VOB file, so I think there is something wrong with the source that your friend created.

No I dont get any message when I try to burn the unedited, original dvd or when I try to create an ISO with dvd shrink. It is only after I edit with dvdremake and try to burn/use dvd shrink that I have problems. I dont know where the IFO or BUP's are but here is a screenshot of the original, unedited dvd that I ripped to my harddrive with clone dvd. There is definately nothing wrong with the source because I can play it and watch it on any dvd player and it works fine. Its only after I use dvdremake to edit where I start to encounter problems.

Look closely again, they're in the screenshot. Without them, no players can play with navigation intact.

I'd like to see 2 sets of files please. Zip them up (use 7-zip) and upload them to http://www.savefile.com.

First set, in DRMP, blank all VTS and convert to still all menus. Delete the audio in the menus if you have any. Export and zip them.

Second set, use NavPackExtractor on the original. Extract to some folder and zip them.

What operations did you do in ReMake? Any red highlights anywhere before export?

I dont get what you mean by " blank all VTS and convert to still all menus. Delete the audio in the menus if you have any. Export and zip them. for set 1" and for set 2, I dont really get what you want me to do exactly, use navpack extractor on the original?? What do you mean ?

As for the operations I do in remake, heres what I do. I import the dvd into remake, I go to the DVD menu, I click export frame and then I edit the text with paint and save it as a 24 bmp. Then I use muxman to create the files for the edited menu. Then in DVDremake I click on the menu and replace with still and my new menu is there. Then I click export dvd. Thats all. All I am doing is changing the text of the menu. As for red highlights, if you mean in the CLUT area. There is a red highlight which I didnt change. But why should red highlights be important?
Also sometimes when I click replace with still, I sometimes get an error message in DVDremake saying it needs to close with the send error report thing. Sometimes I can replace with still and not get an error message, sometimes I can. Its random. But I am also going to include 2 screenshots of my edited dvd menu. I also want to let you know that it does have audio in it so I dont know if that is of importance but...

Re: DVDremake HELP! cant highlight/select episode

Seem like you've been working on the same dvd, correct?

Looking at the error given by Shrink and CloneDVD again, it says it cannot find the file VIDEO_TS.IFO. This is highly unlikely. Please export from DvdReMake again without any modification, and check there exists this file. Also, open exported files in Shrink and CloneDVD again - any error message?

Let me rephrase again. In DvdReMakePro, right-click on each VTS (1-5), and select "Hide all blocks". This is what it means to blank all VTS. Convert to still on all menus means exactly that. If you see a "Replace with still" you should see a "Convert to still" as well. "Convert menus to still" is also accessible when you right-click on Menus in dvd tree. But since you have only one menu in the Title menu and the size is small, I guess there's no need to do this. Most of the time, to reduce file size for upload/download one deletes the audio for the menus (with Menus domain selected, go to Audio Tracks tab and select "Delete tracks from selected" on the track) b/c there's no need to hear it.

Anyways, just blank all VTS (no need to convert the menu to still as the size is small) and export to a folder called DvdReMake. Zip this folder up. Also include the 24-bit bmp that you edited in the zip as well. This is the first set of files I'd like to see.

For the second set of files, open the Navpack Extractor program. Select the folder where the original resides for the Source entry. Create a folder called Navpack and have Destination entry point to it. Then click Extract button. That's all there is to it! Zip the Navpack folder up.

Now upload these 2 sets of files for download. Hope this is all clear now.

That's not it. I am referring to any errors/warnings. You should see it if there's any red item in the dvd tree. The tooltip will display the message when you hover over the item. It appears you don't have any.

Alright, I was able to do the first set of files and will upload them in a minute. But I still dont get how to do the second set using Navpack. What do you mean

Do you mean select the exported dvd folder or what? Sorry for being so dumb but I really dont know what you mean. Thanks again

Also I exported the original dvd with DVDremake without modifying it and there were no problems. I was able to use clonedvd and dvdshrink with no problems. So it obviously has something to do with when I edit. But I am going to upload the first set of files right now and if you could be more clear on what I should do for the second set of files I will get those uploaded ASAP. Thanks!

Select the original folder for Source entry. Select Navpack folder (if it does not exist, then create it) for Destination entry. Click Extract button. After extracting process is done, zip the Navpack folder with 7-zip. It's very simple.
