Skipping/jumping playback I have been using 1Click DVD Copy (currently 4.2.9.9) and AnyDVD. With Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R. Also a Sony DW-D56A burner on my Inspiron 6000 laptop. I have been using these for almost a year with minimal problems, getting good copies most of the time. In the past few weeks I have been getting more and more copies that my DVD player AND laptop won't recognize or the disk skips and jumps over some scenes. I have the CopytoDVD settings to burn at 4x. Is this a problem with 1Click or my drive? I assume AnyDVD is not the culprit because the burn is getting all the way completed. I used to think 1Click was great but now I'm not so sure...thinking about using different software now. Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Skipping/jumping playback Are you using the latest AnyDVD? Your problem might be that you have both 1Click's CPRx and AnyDVD's Protection Based on Unreadable Sectors enabled. Since these are both trying to do the same task, sometimes backups that do not play correctly are the result if both are enabled. With 1Click up, right click on the interface to bring up options that will let you disable CPRx. Disabling PBUS on AnyDVD is done in settings. Be sure to keep one of the two enabled, or you will not be able to backup certain new titles.

Re: Skipping/jumping playback I have the latest AnyDVD...just installed the new version this past week. Both of the programs were running the copy protection...I turned it off on AnyDVD. Is one better than the other? Thanks for the tip...I'll see if it helps.

You bought it - Use it . CPRx 's main benefit is for those who don't have the luxury of a decrypter like AnyDVD . Disable the CPRx and see if that helps .

Re: Skipping/jumping playback Tommy -- I am beginning to suspect your drive may be going south. There's some reason, not apparent in your log, why your burn is taking so long. Note the average speed of less than 2X when you should be burning at 4X. I'm surprised that the burn log says nothing about your DMA either being enabled or disabled. You might want to check that in device manager.

Re: Skipping/jumping playback That's what I'm thinking. I've read a few posts on various forums regarding burning issues with the Sony burner. I checked the current transfer - Ultra DMA Mode 2 If I'm gonna get a new drive should I try to replace this one on my laptop or get an additional external one?

( replacing a lap-top drive can be big bucks ) One more thing ...... Try enabling the "DVD-R SAO FIRST" function . Open 1Click >> F9 > "Writing: Devices tab >> Check "DVD-R SAO FIRST" to enable . ![]()

Re: Skipping/jumping playback Shannon made two good suggestions. If the SAO works, case closed. If you need a new drive, look at externals. If your current drive still reads ok, it's really convenient to use one as a source and the other as the destination.

| Re: Skipping/jumping playback You mentioned using other software in your first post. What other software do you use and is it still giving you good copies? Also do you have the latest firmware for your burner as the media you are using is 8x speed and your log only recognizes it as being capable of 6x. 6/2/2006 12:06:21 AM info Writing speed requested x4.0, effective x4.0 6/2/2006 12:06:20 AM info Available write speed: x6.0, x4.0, x2.0 6/2/2006 12:06:20 AM info Media ID: TYG02
