1ClickDVDCopy Discuss, Please help...burning problem at Copy Movie forum; I have just about wasted 5 DVDs (I use Sony DVD+R media). When burning from my hard drive to disc, it burns fine but I have noticed that when I'm burning a DVD, my writer blinks a green light and then an orange light, which never happened before.

Please help...burning problem

I have just about wasted 5 DVDs (I use Sony DVD+R media). When burning from my hard drive to disc, it burns fine but I have noticed that when I'm burning a DVD, my writer blinks a green light and then an orange light, which never happened before. It has always been green all thru the burn. Now after the DVD has finished, I test it on my Sony DVD player and the DVD does not even open. Never has this happened before up until yesterday. Didn't change anything. I'm using 1Click DVD Copy. If you must know this is happening with Dreamgirls & Catch & Release. I'm stumped...I have even tried other burning software and I'm getting the same results, (more coasters). Any ideas.....

Are you using -Rs ?
If so ....

Right Click on the 1Click Interface > Settings Menu
>>SET= Your "DVD-R Write Mode" at "Try SAO First"

>>UNCheck= Enable media stats collection - VSO
>>Set= Your "Preferred Burn Speed" at 1/2 of your Media's rating
ie: IF You're using 16x Media = Set for 8x ; 8x Media = Set for 4x

-----------------------------------------

Please Post a >> F8 log session of the attempt(s) ....
Let us read the 'process' and 'error' in context
- and your options - selected

Open 1Click >> F8 >> Copy and Paste in Reply
Look for :
"***Session Started***" / "***Session Closed***"
- to divide the individual sessions
Post one session per Reply Post
One or Two "Session(s)" in question should suffice

If the One Session is too long - Divide the Session into Two Postings

Let us take a look ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.... Let's check something .....
Go to > Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties > Auto-Play tab
What do you have selected for the "Action to Preform" for 'DVD Movie" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"
OR
Set only for your DVD Player ( WinDVD/PowerDVD )
- be sure to close your 'Player' before opening 1Click
While here in the DVD Drive 'Properties"
Do you have a "DLA" tab ?
= Disable DLA
Read access layer: Using Patin-Couffin driver Version Version 1.36.0,
Internal revision 36 - DMA Access mode
You have the 'wrong' Patin-Couffin Installed
Download/Install the VSOInspector ( it's free ) > Reboot
The VSOInspector should (re)install the proper version of the Patin-Couffin(37)
Post a Updated Log Session - So I can check the 'installation'
What other "Burning Software" - Do you have Installed ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Try using your [E] SONY DVD RW DRU-820A 1.0c - As your Destination
It has the latest Firmware Update

Your BTC/Emprex DVDRW IDE1108 B430 - Really should be Replaced
A new DVD/RW Drive is only about $30.00+/-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...G&Pagesize=100

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
>>UNCheck= Enable media stats collection - VSO
>>Set= Your "Preferred Burn Speed" at 4x
Which is 1/2 of your Media's rating
ie: IF You're using 16x Media = Set for 8x ; 8x Media = Set for 4x
I'll Skip the WindowsME lecture .... I'm sure that you've heard it before
Your Burn time is really slow ( Avg. burn rate 1.04 )
Check and Reset your DMA
DMA ReSet Tool
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How are you getting the DVD Source Folder - to your Hard Drive ?
What Decrypter are you using ?
DVDFab ? AnyDVD ?
I don't read one listed ......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New Source: C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Paris
When Selecting a HDD Source Folder ,
It's best to Direct - to the VIDEO_TS Folder
This should read :
New Source: C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Paris\VIDEO_TS
Re: Please help...burning problem
shannon90210,
I just installed VSOInspector and it installed version 36. The same file that I have on my computer. The other burning software I have is Magic DVD Copier which works fine. I have no problems with it. I also use Magic DVD ripper to rip to hard drive. Both software works fine. But like I said, I would rather use 1 click DVD because it seems like the quality of the burn is better. Both my drives have the most current firmware installed.
This is Your Main Issue
Something
- either Magic DVD Copier /Magic DVD ripper
- or an Old Version of CopytoDVD
Is Blocking the Patin-Couffin version from being Updated from 36 to 37
If you have CopytoDVD Installed ( ? ) > Remove it for now
First Try .....
Go to >>
> Start > Right Click on My Computer
>> Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager
Look toward the bottom of the 'Device' Listing
Look for VSO Devices
Click the " + " to Open "VSO Devices"
You should now see = "pcouffin device for 32 bit systems"
Right Click on ""pcouffin device for 32 bit systems"
Select= UNinstall
> Reboot your Computer
> Reinstall 1ClickDVDCopy again , over itself > Reboot
> Re Check your 1Click Log for Version 37
( hopefully )
If the Above doesn't work
You'll have to Remove the Program - that is 'Locking' the PCversion36
- in order to allow the Update to PCv37
Did you try the Device Manager Removal ?
Somehow PCv36 is still Locked in there
Do you have CopytoDVD installed ?
Search your Computer for:{ PCSetup }
Tell me what you find
hmm.....funny how it shows 'Version 1.37.0.94', but when I show the properties of the file: Pcouffin.vxd it says Version 1.36.0. Remember I'm using Win98 SE my device manager looks a little different from the one you show.
No , I'd doubt it
AnyDVD uses a completely different Drive access
If AnyDVD has been exited - I'd extremely doubt it
But you could try removing AnyDVD - just to see
And ..... a AnyDVD Re Install Isn't going to hurt - either
( be sure your key is safe )
Re: Please help...burning problem
Here's an idea.......should I uninstall any kind of copy & ripper program that I have, clean out my system of any leftovers, then try to install 1 click DVD & see what happens? What's your take on that?
Just make sure you do not have Roxio Drag to disc or Nero INCD installed.
OK...This is what happened. I un-installed all software that I had that pertains to ripping or burning. All I had on there was my anti-virus, firefox, & Outlook Express, that's it. I followed your directions above about cleaning out the registry and I cleaned out any other folders, files, etc. So now all is clear and I went ahead a installed 1 Click DVD Copy. Here is the pcsetup log....
This one shows Version 1.36.0. So I checked the properties of pcouffin.vxd..
This is getting aggrevating.....As much as I would rather use 1 Click, I'll have to go back to using Magid DVD Copier. That works with no problem. And the burn isn't bad either.....I don't know....
Over a year ago or more
- I found a Patin-Couffin listing - in my Add/Remove Programs
Separately Listed .... ( No idea )
Look in ADD/Remove Programs for a Patin-Coffin listing
If Found : Remove it
at Last Resort ...
Try Removing your Upper/Lower Filters
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/270008/
Afterward -
You'll have to Re Install Any/ All DVD/CD Software - to Regain Drive Access
Did you email LGSI Support ?
They may have a 'Force' Patch - for this ( ? )
Re: Please help...burning problem
shannon90210,
I have noticed that other users who have successfully installed 1.37, there log is reads: 'Using Patin-Couffin driver Version 1.37, Internal revision 37 - Async. Access mode'. Well, from some of my logs it says 'DMA Access mode' what is the difference between Async. Access mode & DMA Access mode? Could that be my dilema?....I don't know..
