If you have any other decrypters on your HD make sure they are not active. I would try uninstalling rebooting and reinstall.

Thanks Alan... I do not have any other decrypters on my hard drive and I reinstalled it a couple of times. My old copy started do the same thing and that is why I upgraded. I am going to try and reinstall my DVD drives and see if that works. Any other suggestions would be welcome - Glen

I had a similar problem about a year ago. My drives no longer recognized a DVD when I put one in them. It was as if they were empty. For example, I would put a purchased movie DVD in the ROM and it would just sit there and not play. I removed Dvd43 and the problem stopped. I even had called Dell and had they had approved a new ROM drive and were sending someone to do an install. I called Dell and canceled the delivery and install.

My DVD software reads the DVD and plays it... 1click even tries to copy it. It is only DVD43 that does not see it.

DVD43 is a simple CSS decrypter that runs in the background, essentially like a driver. It allows copying programs like 1Click to see the DVD as having no CSS encryption. Version 3.90 is popular with some 1Click users right now because the combination of 1Click's CPRx, which removes Arcoos and other exotic protections, and DVD43 allows the backup of virtually any disk. Other 1Click users continue to use AnyDVD, which works in the background like DVD43, but handles the exotic protection schemes itself. That makes it usable with programs like Recode and CloneDVDII, as well.

Re: DVD43 stopped recognizing that there was a DVD in the drive

As Bigboard says, if 1Click regular or Pro is the only backup software you are using, then for now anyways DVD43 might just work for you. However, if you have any other backup programs you might want to consider dumping 43 and getting AnyDVD (except DVDNextCopy) it does not work with anydvd period, but then why would you want nextcopy when Ripit4Me and Shrink is a great package and costs, oh thats right they are free.

Thanks Bigboard and Campman ,
I also use AnyDVD since I discovered DvdShrink can sometimes stumble over tough obstacles . AnyDvd does better. I'l see what dvd43 's capable of and tell You more .
Thanks again .
