I am trying to back up some DVDs and the result is blank DVDs.
1click says burn successfull though.
I use

NEC ND3450A
Iomega 422-INQ-D

With Verbatim DVD

I have noticed the same thing happen when I burn Data DVD with nero.. DVD comes out Blank...

Any Idea???

How do you know it's blank? If you start Windows Explorer, will that show that there is something on the disc or not?

first - DVD looks unburnt
2nd - When I put the burnt dvd in one of the drives, it starts spinning, then stops, I can see the light of the drive showing running... at that stgae if I start window explorer Its crashes windows

Open 1Click >> F8 >> Copy and Paste in Reply
Look for :

- to divide the individual sessions

You -really- need to consider replacing that Old DVD/RW Drive
ND 3450A : Last Firmware Update = April 2005
You are going to have Trouble with some of the newer 16x Media (?)
Yours has truly served it's time
You should have it 'bronzed'

New 20x/22x DVD Burners are only $30.00+/-

Ultimately .... I would replace both ODDs

Here's the Usual .....troubleshoots ...

Let's check something .....

Go to > Start > My Computer
> Right Click on DVD drive > Properties > Auto-Play tab

What do you have selected for the "Action to Perform" for 'DVD Movie" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"
OR
Set only for your DVD Player ( WinDVD/ Power DVD )
- be sure to close your 'Player' before opening 1Click

What do you have selected for the "Action to Perform" for 'Blank CD" ?
This should be set as "Take no action"



While here in the DVD Drive 'Properties"
Do you have a "DLA" tab ?
= Disable DLA

- Nero ( InCD )
or
Roxio ( DragtoDisc/ EasyArchive/ DirectCD )
- installed/active on your Computer ?


FAQ : Can other software conflict with the installation

> Run IMGBurn > Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order

> Click "Clipboard". Close IMGBurn
Then paste the information you copied into your clipboard

Here's some Help - with maybe ... reducing the load ....

I'd recommend that you Try using EnditALL while Copying/Burning
... to free up your resources
... You might be surprised at what's running - in the background


Open Advanced Windows Care Personal > Tools > Start-Up Manager
( it's completely free and a very recommended clean-up program )

You will be presented with a listing of the Programs
- Programs that are designated to Start-Up with Windows
- and Descriptions of Each ( Click on Selection )

Any Start Up Entry - Referring to any DVD/CD Software ?
Windows Media Player ?
ITunes ?

If So = UN Check it

This only Disables the Program - from the List
- Designated to 'Start-Up' - with Windows
You would - still - be able to 'manually' start the Program(s) - when needed

Also ......
UN Check anything - Not Trustworthy
UN Check anything - Not Necessary or Not Preferred
( you may click on an Start-Up item > Select Disable - If you prefer )
>> Apply
> Reboot


or -
You could also , Go into Msconfig - and Deselect unneeded Programs
- from your 'Start Up"
This will help a lot .....
