Back-up Dvds skip while playing

Hi Everyone,

I had some problems installing my Nec-7170A to my Dell 8400. However, that problem has been resolved with the help from Oz. I have another problem when I back up my dvds. Upon playback the dvd's skip from chapter to chapter. I am unable to view menu selection or even watch the movie. I changed the writing speeds all the way down to 4x and switched out my media but still the same issue? Any suggestions? If I can't get this to work I have to send it back to Newegg asap.

Thanks for all your help.

Paul

Hi m3racer,

Can you post your 1Click log? So, we can see what movie you are trying , what media you are using, CPRx settings, what decrypter you are using etc...
In order to do so, open 1Click and hit F8. And then copy and paste your log (at least one full session) into your next post.

Re: Back-up Dvds skip while playing

Hi 0301orih,

Thanks for your help!

I was using TDK and Ridata media. They both worked on my oem Dell Philips burner. I am using DVD43 decrypter. The decrypter does work. I dont know what my CPRx settings are.

I think I may need to clarify that the dvd does play for only 1 sec per scene them jumps to the next.

Here is the log:

Re: Back-up Dvds skip while playing

m3racer,

A couple of things you can do first...

1). Update your 1Click to ver. 5.0.3.5.

2). Since you are using -Rs, set your DVD-R writing mode to SAO First. In order to do so, right click on the 1Click GUI and you'll see the options.

3). Set your burn speed @ 8x

4). TDK media is ok, but some members in the 1Click DVD forum are having a playback problem with this media.

5). I would suggest Verbatim 16x +R/-R or Taiyo Yudens.

CPRx is turned on, so you don't have to worry about that one.

If you are interested, come visit us.

Another great Dell machine. There has to be more problems and issues be it compatability or other with Dell computers than any other brand on the face of this planet.

Wonder why you pay less for a Dell now?

There are probably also more Dell PCs being used than any other brand.

I'm with you on this one.
Dell and most of the other large manufacturers mod things to make their product cheaper and it does sometimes cause issues but not all problems can be laid at their door.
