| Trojan in ratDVD? Avast! 4.6 on-access scanner (database version 0539-4 02/10/05) found Win32:IrcBot-BG trojan in most of the files in C:\Program Files\ratDVD\XEB\ and C:\Program Files\ratDVD\imdbquery\ (*.dll & *.ax). I haven't been able to verify this with another scanner though. The link I used to download the program was hxxp://www.ratdvd.dk/downloads/ratDVDSetup-0.76.1408.exe Is this a false positive? | Re: Trojan in ratDVD? UPDATE: I reinstalled from the archive and checked with housecall and again with Avast!. No trojans this time. So it's a false alarm. I still don't understand how these files got infected though. It was the only infected folder in the whole system. I only ran ratDVD once, to install the playback filters and then loaded a ratDVD movie that I got from the net. Is it possible to get an infection from a ratDVD movie? |
