Converting ratDVD to DVD

hi everyone,
i got some files from a friend wich appear to be created by ratDVD. The files look like an ordinary DVD but the .vob files are labelled .xvo, the .ifo remain and there are some .vsi files.
When I try to convert these files to DVD via ratDVD i only got the following error: "File : VTS_09_01.VOB missing." Yes .vob even there aren't any vob-files. There isn't any ratDVD file either.

Any suggestions or are the files corrupt / not correctly transcoded?

Oh, if I try to play the files (wmp9, wmpc, bs player) sound plays well, but no video.

Looking forward to your replies.
greets dyder

Re: Converting ratDVD to DVD

I am having the exact same problem with a DVD folder that looks like a ratDVD compilation. It was actually a zipped file with an .mpg extension. When I unzipped it the files were just as described - XVO with some VSI and IFO files for each chapter.

Does anyone know what this might be?

Ah here is the solution:

I wonder why anyone would post something that has a .ratDVD extension and then rename it to .mpg???

Because MediaPlayer can then play the file. "File is different than extension" or some crap like that, but it will play.
