Re: Bug Reports

ratDVD always crashes after starting the conversion process with following message:

Quote:
AppName: xebencoder.exe AppVer: 0.7.8.333 ModName: xebtcd.ax
ModVer: 0.5.3.5 Offset: 00011c11
I do not have a ATI-card and I also formatted my hard disc... this message always appears, when I try to decode 2 downloaded ratDVDs...

Then when I tried reinstalling (latest version 0.78.1444) it again crashes on registering xebdec.ax with this error:

Any help would be much appreciated!! I can't even get it installed - it used to work flawlessly until I tried it a couple weeks ago. Now I'm stuck with it uninstalled and the installer crashes every time I try to install. Perhaps should I try an older version? Does anyone know where I can find older versions of RatDVD? Any help is much appreciated... thanks!

Note: both of .ratDVD files work fine if I watch them with BS Player at the scene where conversion to DVD crashes...

It seems like conversion process is a little bit "fragile", and it doesn't like something into .ratDVD files (maybe little corrutions, since files come from the web). But playback filters work fine...
This is still a major problem with current 0.78.1444.
Although I get "AppName: xebencoder.exe AppVer: 0.7.8.333 ModName: xebtcd.ax
ModVer: 0.5.3.5 Offset: 00011b27".

Re: Bug Reports

I think I have found a new bug to do with menu control
not sure if its the encoder but I suspect its the AX plugins for
media nagivation thats at fault?

first my install

1) installed ratDVDSetup-0.78.1444.exe
2) install ratattack 0.2 full
3) Mediaplayer 11
4) KMPLAYER latest version with ratdvd native support
5) codecs for ratdvd for mediaplayer 10,11
using DSFMgr.exe to install xebnavigation.ax (ver 0.7.0.1337), xebdec.ax (0, 5, 0, 14)
and TRLDRP6.ax (4.7.2.8) into the windows system32

Now Ive used anyDVD 6.0.5
and cloneDVD2 to make uncompression iso images ok to size of 4 to 9GB

then Ive ran ratdvd over the iso directly to make new isos
of around 1.4 to 2.6gb in size typically takes 4 hours each dvd

now all the menus in commerical dvds so far work fine and plays the titles
and chapters and subtitles etc.

but when I came to do a TV recording done on my new panasonic DMR-EH55
with EP 8 hour format and 16 items on its default menu

although the iso loaded into Mplayer or powerdvd6 all worked

the converted ISO to ratdvd seem to look like it was working
cmoving aroudn selecting any random title to play
simple played the sound track and left the menu on the screen
no matter what Ive tried, no video but seemed to be playing the title I selected.

its like its hopped to the sound track of the title but not the video

now I thought it was a filter problem with the video
for panasonic EP mode

so I tried to compress just one title without menu

and sure enough it played just fine as good as original DVD

Im now trying to re-author the dvd with nero and play with its menu
and see if that has a fault too

so seems to me a bug in the nagivation for the player AX?

anyone else come across this with other DVR recordings ?
or same device

do I need new ax codes? to plugin or lite codecs?
has it been fixed but dont know as on older versions

Cheers

Paul

Re: Bug Reports

scrub that!, I answered my own fault...

I searched the ratdvd install folder and found the new AX files
I should of installed (instead of the file floating around on kmplayer forum!)

the menus are working all now!

ver 0.7.0.1400 opf the navigation file was needed

just reinstalled via the dsFmgr.exe soft and presto!
I leabve here as someone else might be having problems
getting ratdvd to play on their XP under mplayer 10 or higher

no need for kmplayer or classic mplayer to play the full convert dvd!

Cheers
Paul
