Re: Bug Reports

Install K-Lite Codec Pack at standard mode...
Maybe it will refresh/update/or bugfix some codecs!

I've got it installed and i have no problems.

Maybe the DVD you're trying to open is copyright protected? But i don't believe it would give you such an error anyway because of that... hhm...

What are your System specs?

Re: Bug Reports

It is not copy-protected for sure. Just believe me. I know.

What specs do you need exactly?

I'll try K-Lite but other than strange behavior of ratDVD I have no other A/V problems.

Just a really little one...

Hi!

Nice Tool!

I've tried out last night, and first I was a little bit confused: During decoding to a normal DVD, only a single file was created.

I recognized a little bug during selection of target folder: If there is no backslash at the end, just a single file will be created.. Adding a backslash, ratDVD creates the VOB-Files in selected folder.

Hope the information is helpful!

Cheers,
Muy-Yen

Re: Bug Reports

I am currently runnin Windows XP 64 Bit Edition. RatDVD installs with no problem. When I try to open file I get an error saying catastrophic failure. Yes it's installed in my Program Files (x86) Folder since that is the only way I can run certain programs.
Please Help

Re: Bug Reports

Anyone have issue w/ bust back on DVD9's staying in compressed form, meaning staying at 4.4 gig vs. 5,6,7 gig DVD9?

Re: Bug Reports

Crash while converting from ratDVD to DVD. I tried on two different machine, both under XP SP2 fully upgraded from WindowsUpdate and latest drivers and bios from hardware manufacture web sites.

One of them arrive until 4%, the other until 17%, them I got the usual application crash:

AppName: xebencoder.exe AppVer: 0.7.0.201 ModName: xebtcd.ax
ModVer: 0.5.3.5 Offset: 00011457

Note: both of .ratDVD files work fine if I watch them with BS Player at the scene where conversion to DVD crashes...

It seems like conversion process is a little bit "fragile", and it doesn't like something into .ratDVD files (maybe little corrutions, since files come from the web). But playback filters work fine...

...I believe ratDVD is really a great job, but it requires more fault tolerance.

cheers,

I have the exact same problem, but I'm running windows XP SP1 Professional.

This is frustrating me because my computer's performance is shit and I wanna watch my ratDVD's with some capable hardware.

Re: Bug Reports

Hi,
I just made a DVD on disk with ULeads Moviefactory 4.0 (tried also 3.0) and it works great with Powerdvd or Windvd.
Well it's 8Gb so I wanted to shrink it to 4GB with ratDVD (or less).
Used the default settings and it compiled the movie to 2.5GB.
So far so good. The ratdvd file plays ok in win media player (9 and 10) but there is no sound and when i click on the menues it chooses the wrong ones. The wrong movie is played.
Ratdvd shows this structure of the DVD:
http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/5...dfehler0lg.png
BUT
DVDshrink shows this structure:
http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/6...fehler20bl.png
which seems to be correct as powerdvd interprets the menue correct.
Any ideas?
That there is no sound seems to be a problem of the MP2 audio track which could be none standard for DVDs. Someone else here in the forum has problems with MP2 Audio so this could be a real bug.
regards Praktiker.

Incombatibility with Kerio Personal Firewall.
Every time i tried to decompress a movie, it halted almost immediately. After fiddling around for some time I found out, that all i had to do was shut down Kerio.

Bug Reports : Menu language

I've used RatDVD for several dvds and it worked as expected.
But I've got a problem with Starwars bonus. It is a dvd which jumps automatically to french language without prompting (like other dvds do...)
I can't tell windows media player nor any commands in ratdvd to switch by default to french... Because it reads the english menu by default.
I have tried the language menu in wmp but it does not work with ratdvd !

Is there any possibility to switch to a language by default ?

Thanks for your help !

Re: Bug Reports

I tried to unpack the file schlupp.ratdvd - if someone knows this - and ratDVD just exits without any message. Can be at 30% or at 70%; the file and the filesize differs from try to try.
I have already checked the file using ratcheck. Ratcheck says the file is ok! I also took a look into the log but there is no information about any errors.

Kind regards Soldiaz

Re: Bug Reports

Hi !

when creating ratDVD from DVD creating new directories doesn't work.
in the dialog, after pressing the convert-button the is a box for the final file.
if the direcory, within the created file will be stored, doesn't exist, ratDVD crashed with an critical error.

RatDVD Conversion Problem?

My RatDVD Prog ver. 0.78.1444
I converted and burned RatDVD Movie file to DVD.
When playing on the Home DVD player my movie was all OK except NO Color .
However, when I play the same *.vob files on computer color was OK.
What was wrong?

By the way, this is happening 2nd time. (I used RatDVD 2 times.)

I got it work only when run the same*.vob files converted and burn another DVD on the Super DVD Creator 8.5

This is strange situation. I spend (12) hrs to covert RatDVD Movie file and then another (8) Hrs to convert and burn same (already converted files) on Super DVD Creator 8.5

I love ratDVD concept but so far it not working for me.

Re: Bug Reports

Installed ratDVD and any DVD that I try to play on Windows Media Player would crash if I try to skip forward or navigate to different menus.

Gives an error signature...
AppName: wmplayer.exe
AppVer: 10.0.0.3646
ModName: xebdec.ax
ModVer: 0.5.0.16
Offset: 0000ba3d

This happens on all DVDs I try to play with WMP.

I uninstalled ratDVD and now DVDs play fine with WMP without a problem.

Re: Bug Reports

- tried to convert ratDVD back to dvd.
- main chapter crashed at 99%, created only *.vob files (no ifo...)
- when i dont convert main chapter, everything's fine.
- error: xebencoder.exe, ver 0.7.8.333, module xebtcd.ax, ver 0.5.3.5, adress 0x00011c11 in eventlog;
- dr. watson says: exception c00000005 at adress 07421c11 (XEBTCD! DllUnregisterServer)

i tried it on winxp and w2k, 3 computers (one of them clean install, one laptop), with WinDVD (3.2 and 7.0), same result. i tried ratdvd 0.6.1117, 0.7.1235, 0.78.1444...

but i could play the ratDVD with media players without problems, ratCheck finds no error....

Re: Bug Reports

Version 0.78.1444 crashes both whenever I try to run it, and during install, whenever I have ATI Tray Tools running. (no such problems with 0.77.1506)

When attempting to run ratdvd, I get an error with XEBEncoder.exe
When attempting to install, I get an error when the installer attempts to register xebdec.ax

Aforementioned problems do not occur when I do not have ATI Tray Tools running.

Using Windows XP Pro SP2 (nlite!)

A brother who shares my pain . Well, exactly the same here. I might add the same error appears when you try to uninstall RatDVD!
