UDMA 4- What drives and firmware support

Does anyone know of other drives beside the Pioneer and the BenQ1640 BEFB external that support UDMA 4? I have heard that the Plextor 716A does but I am not sure. The BenQ 1621 uses UDMA 3 but that is as far as I have gotten. Are there any other drives or firmware thast support this mode?

That is great news, are you using internally or externally? And what firmware are you using?

Plextor 716A is UDMA4 with 38+ MB/s burst rate. Externally with Prolific PL-3507 case 24MB/s burst rate on firewire. It's achievable since fw 1.06 until the latest 1.09.

Re: UDMA 4- What drives and firmware support

All Pioneer 109 and 110 models, to be precisely.

All other drives/brands were mentioned before...

I would buy the 716A but I want to see what the 760A is all about before I buy the 716A. I wonder if the Plex 760A will run in UDMA 4 mode?

Anyone mentioned LiteOn? My 1693S is UDMA4.

Re: UDMA 4- What drives and firmware support

Since this old thread got resurrected, I might as well tell you that any recent LiteOn DVD burner will also run in UDMA 4.

Take a look at my link below if you are looking for burst rates in external enclosures.

Re: UDMA 4- What drives and firmware support

I still have an old Pioneer 108 that runs in UDMA 4. Also my 111 and my Liteon 165H6S.

The POST/BIOS screen shows it precisely!
