Toshiba DVDROM R/RW cannot read DVD

Guys, someone can help me out of this mess
My Toshiba DVDROM R/RW SD-R5272 is not able to read DVDs
but can read CDs

If Nero isn't recognising your burner, then try updating Nero (version 7.0.5.4 is the latest).

Aside from that - does your burner show up fine in Device Manager?

when i got to the pacifi digital site.. the only firmware they have is for DVDROM R/RW SD-R5272.. but xp . has renamed it SD-R5372.. what can i do ?

I doubt Xp has renamed it to SD-R5372

What is the current fw of your drive?

And which firmware was on the drive before?
