Burner User Reviews and Comments Discuss, Recomend me a DVD Burner for my LAPTOP at CD and DVD Burners forum; one more question, does Lite-On 1635has preferencefor specific dvd type? I mean between DVD-R and DVD+R. I was told that some dvd writer prefer one to another while the other work fine with both.

Generally, Liteons prefer +R. I have found as I look at good quality media that most of the +R burns better no matter which drive I use. Generally, TY +R 8X is the best media I have found and is almost perfect on any burner.

Re: Recomend me a DVD Burner for my LAPTOP

I bought a Sony Vaio laptop about a year ago. It has a crappy Mitshita UJ-831 drive and it has serious issues burning DVDs. I've gone through about 25 Memorex DL DVD+R. I'm using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. Please help!

I'm looking for an internal (preferably) drive for this laptop, but I'll take external suggestions too. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, but want good quality dvd burning. Am I asking too much?

Thanks in advance!

MatSHITa burner and Memor$ux DL media?!?

Forget about both!!!

In case of DL media you can only trust Verbatim.

If you search for a better slimtype burner, have a look at the latest ones from Nec, Pioneer and Toshiba. But just replacing them will most likely not work - the new drive has to have the correct firmware.

What DVD Burner for my IBM thinkpad? NEC 6750?

Hi guys, I am looking for an INTERNAL DVD writer to replace my combo drive on a IBM A30p thinkpad. I was told the NEC 6550 would fit and work, Anyone know if the NEC 6750 will work? or if it the right form factor at least?

regards,
TTTulio

Re: Recomend me a DVD Burner for my LAPTOP

Form factor should be no problem, but the RIGHT firmware is one.
