| HP DVD 840i - Not recognizing DL disks Just installed HP DVD 840i and it has been unable to recognize +R DL disks (used but FujiFilm 2.4x & Verbatim 8x) - the drive recognizes and burns single layer dvds fine - Nero Info Tool shows the boxes for +R DL & -R DL checked. My current FW version is S632. I contacted HP & they sent me updated FW which errored out on a device mismatch error. They then told me to wait and new FW might be on the site soon. Has anyone gottenthis drive to burn DL disks? If so, how? |

| Re: HP DVD 840i - Not recognizing DL disks Here's a bit of new info. I will try to update when I get the link. Called HP support, referred to HP Optical Support at 866-694-7633. Fellow there recognized the "Mismatch" error when trying to apply firmware and says that Level 2 has a patch for this. Hopefully, it works. I'm under the wire on a project. artinfos I'll try to remember to repost with more info when I get it from HP. |
