Re: DVD Burner - TEAC - DV-W516E 16X DVD-MULTI

I own this drive in form of a Plextor PX-750A. When you compare to the MCC scans in the cdfreaks PX-750A review, these scans look much worse than it would burn as a Plextor. Why is that? Is it because of the TEAC firmware?

But more importantly, is this drive being re-issued or something? The sticker says July 2005, so it looks like regular one. I expect "real" Plextors to be even much much better, but it's such a great drive. I never had one of such high mechanical quality in terms of the way it sounds. And it's always so totally consistent in the sounds it makes. You never have surprising new and strange sounds as I always had with other drives. And it holds the tray like you couldn't be able to bomb it out of the drive. Really great!
