Thanks for the info eleewhm. Thought about getting a Benq1620Pro but I'm also interrested in this new LG model as I followed Kenshin's posts about it. Can't wait for the first test results...

p.s. I'm still running a Pioneer DVD-105 which is my only DVDRW drive.

@kalas...if you are not into overspeeding media..LG is suited for you...simple and straight forward and as LG do not emphasie so much on overspeeding....

BenQ1620Pro if you are more into 16x speeds...quite a number of media can be burnt at 16x speeds...

Hm. Very strange. Both PI's and PIF's are well within the acceptable levels. But then not much to worry because Ritek G05 is not trusted at all by those who care about writing quality very much

Nice. I only recently got the 4160 and while I would like 8x +RW for backups I will probably wait for the 16x RAM model before upgrading. Hopefully by then DL media will be reasonably priced too. I notice the ivory bezel version has a black tray. Is that normal? Are all 41xx like that? I have a black model but inquired about an ivory bezel in case I ever moved it to such a case but they do not seem to be available seperately. Previously I was able to purchase a another LG drive in an ivory model (it had an ivory tray too) and a black bezel seperately. With my 4160, at first I thought the black bezel was damaged until realizing that it was just tiny air bubbles under a plastic film covering the unexpected gloss black trim. Hey, bezels are just as important as the technical stuff

That's not normal. Beige GSA-4163B comes with beige tray. Dunno about silver.
