Combo drive

I'm planning to buy a new combo drive. I'm out of this field for quite some time. I'm sure people here will definitely help me out

Re: Combo drive

I have several lite-on 5236k's that have given me no problem. I assume the 5236v is also good.

Re: Combo drive

Newegg had the nec 3540 for <$40. Probably within 5% of being the top burner you can buy. Why spend $26+ to get a mid quality non dvd burner. I have 30 PCs with lite-on combo units. SOHC 5235k lk06. Horrible for dvd error reporting/read testing. Also my lite-on dvd burner 811 model only burns from horrible to unreadable. My BTC burner is better than my liteon even. Invesyment wise try for the burner.

Yeah, don't drives read PS2 discs from the outside in or something? Or am I thinking of XBox discs...
