| Best combo CD/DVD drive - please advise Quote:
Is there a DVD Writer that is good at CDs? Which is the best? I have an old Pioneer DVR-105 DVD that seems fine. If it would be better to go with just a CD only drive, which is the best? Thank you. | |

| Re: Best combo CD/DVD drive - please advise Some stores still have the CD only drive which should be around half the price of the current DVD drives but they might still ask for almost the price of the DVD. If you can still find it get either Lite-On or Sony, basically any brand should read/write CDs better than the DVD drives. I've tried to put in a few old CDs of different brand (Burned more than 5 years ago) into current DVD drives and most of them could not read it while the older DVD drives can still read it. |
