Samsung tsst corp cd/dvdw TS-L532A checksum verification

Hello,

Does anyone have the URL to the manufacturer of the
Samsung tsst corp cd/dvdw TS-L532A?

I'm looking for a utility that will verify the accuracy of data writes to this dvd burner.

The gateway 'restore disc creation' tool burned the restore disc but failed on the verification process twice (two attempts).

This is a new laptop and I merely wish to verify that the dvd writer is functioning properly.

Thanks,
Strawman

ps: This is an interesting site and will return. Wondering how to unlock a protected MPEG-4 audio file (protected) to convert into an aiff, among other issues.

Hi,

I’ve found this possibly useful utility CD/DVD Diagnostic v.2.1.4 Build 14. It tries to repair incorrectly recorded +-RW media.

regards,

I also have a Samsung DVD burner (TS-H552B) and the Nero software that came with my Gateway computer. I have Nero set to verify the burn and it always fails. I have updated Nero. I can't determine if Samsung has a preferred brand of blank DVD for this burner.

Ok, here is my point. Perhaps the Nero verification program is flawed and we shouldn't even use it. I have spot checked the burned DVDs and they seem to be ok.

Re: Samsung tsst corp cd/dvdw TS-L532A checksum verification

I've got a TS-L532A in a new laptop I bought last week. It seems to have the same issue with -R media - the first disk was ok (I think a G.04) but subsequent burns of CMC.MAG (I think...) and both G.05 and G.04 give verify errors in Nero, which is the latest version.

Burning +RW and +R disks give no errors.

I did a disk quality scan on two of the failed -R disks, and there were significant problems with them beyond around the 30-40% point, so I'm not sure if it is just verify. One disk seemed to play back on my Panasonic E85 DVD recorder, but it did break up around one chapter point, so there's definitely something wrong.
