Hi,

I have a Samsung TS-L462A/WBFH (fw: U301 SLAVE) drive but I want to setup it as master. I hope that we can help to one another.

Hey

Did you guys ever find the firmware you needed?

If so I'd really appreciate a copy.

Hey guys. You can find firmwares for Toshiba SD-R2612 here:

http://hijacker.rpc1.org/toshiba/ind...path=SD-R2612/

It's the same drive only diffrent OEM name. The RPC1 firmware for it are also avaible but untested. If someone here is willing to test let me know how it goes and please post a DISCInfo screenshot before and after flashing.

I am also quite sure I'll be able to find original TS-L462A firmwares later this week. But the SD-R2612 ones should work just the same.

If you don't know how to use DOS you can first try the windows flasher located here:

http://hijacker.rpc1.org/toshiba/ind...ath=Utilities/

Filename: Twinfwup2.exe or sfdnwin.exe

Let me know the results.

EDIT: Found U301 for TS-L462A model. Untested RPC1 patch avaible here:

http://hijacker.rpc1.org/toshiba/ind...path=TS-L462A/

Re: Samsung TS-L462A/WBFH from Master => Slave ?

I used "mtkflash w tr30.bin" command on my Samsung TS-L462A/WBFH. The bios recognise it as "TOSHIBA" secondary master and I can use it in DMA mode but I can't write CD-s. I tried to put back a samsung dump to the drive using mtkflash but it doesn't do it. The drive reads discs fine. Please help me to solve the cd errors or put back any samsung dump.

Mtkflash halts at:
Port: 170, Master/Slave: a0

Delete the drive from windows device manager and redetect it again.

What exactly do you mean, it doesn't burn CD? What error do you get?

Try different media and ensure you have the lastest IDE Chipset driver installed.

This is a TDK CD-RW 4x-12x 700MB. This disc was tested with the original firmware but I will try out with another disc. The IDE drivers are the latest as I know.

I tried out with Maxell CD-RW 700MB 4x, Verbatim CD-RW 700MB 4x but I got the same message.

Yes, I would like to restore the factory state. Sfdnwin says: "This firmware is not compatible with the selected drive." So I can't overwrite the Toshiba fw with TS fw. I'm going to check the Twinfwup2 tomorrow. Thanks.

Re: Samsung TS-L462A/WBFH from Master => Slave ?

I used sfdnwin using "nocheck" option and I flashed back to TS. I got the same messages when I tried to write cd-s. I think that it's not firmware or software problem. Thanks guys.

I tried out to reflash with another TS fw-s and I realized that
U301ELH.BIN - is TS master firmware
&
U301ELS.BIN - is TS slave firmware.
