I am trying to burn a CD from nerolinux..

I am running Debian testing on a DELL GX270, all seems fine, except when I try to burn, I get the error that I have the wrong media installed.

So whats up?

Any ideas?

Re: NeroLinux says I have wrong media, but I don't..

I have the same problem, i have Debian Sarge with the 2.6.8 Kernel. When i want to burn i get the mesage please insert a blank CDR(W) Disk. So the disk are blank. K3B works fine, i only want nerolinux tu burn bin/cue images of svcds, because with k3b i have problems. On an other computer with Suse Linux 9.3 Nero Linux works fine, so it is a question of the kernel? I dont want to upgrade my kernel in Sarge or is there no other chance? I hope the next Nerolinux version works fine. I think many have the problem with the mesage in Nerolinux that the media are not blank. In this Forum are 4 posting about that problem i think. Thanks if some of you can resolv the problem.

Re: NeroLinux says I have wrong media, but I don't..

Thanks for all the help;

I updated the kernel to 2.6.12-1 and all is fine now.. Works like a charm.

I suppose thats one problem with apt, it doesn't update the kernel unless you specifically tell it to, I never knew 2.6.12-1 was available for sarge.

Maybe there is a switch somewhere to let it. I'll have to investigate.

Thanks
again

Hello,
don't worry to udate your kernel. I installed Sarge with (default 26 stable) kernel 2.6.8 and updated only the kernel to sarge unstable 2.8.12. This can be done even with synaptic. Add unstable to packet sources, update the kernel and remove unstable immediately.
Nero burns well and all is fine.

Err... are you really sure you want to use linux?

Anyway the kernel in linux is the fundamental piece of software that administers syscalls and I/O operations, updating it may depend on the distro you're using.
