Re: Whinge about your day thread!

I've spent yet another day explaining the difference between 1ECC PIF summing & 8ECC PIF summing in scans to a bunch of indifferent noobs & that the PIF scans are practically irrelevant to disc quality, but only indicate a discs readability, rather than definitive quality (although burn quality is one of many factors).

And yet again, indifferent noobs still don't care that the 560PI/4PIF levels are for 1x reading, not 4x, 5x, 8x or any other speeds, nor that the forum recommended levels for 4x,5x or 8x set at 280PI/4PIF are only guidelines ....

Damnit! It's so damn frustrating!
I feel like beating my head against a brick wall until it's a bloody stump.

Admitting that you've illegally downloaded movies/songs and need help to process/burn is comparable to robbing a bank, and walking into the bank the next day holding the bags of money to deposit them into your account.
Don't be surprised if people laugh at you when you make the headlines.

It's hot and horrible, now I am al sweaty and sticky. Why does everyone assume all people like this weather. I realy want to slap the weather readers across the face with a ton of TNT when they say "And a gloriously hot and sunny day for everyone to enjoy.....". Now I am off to melt away.

Bah .. it's merely lukewarm .. ya big wuss

It might increase the temperature of the ocean so that ya can skinny at Brighton beach ... if that's your idea of a good time

The water around England is so much colder than here, it's scary, and I refuse to swim here due to the cold temperature

Re: Whinge about your day thread!

We're not used to such hot weather debro so we are not built for it. When it strikes some of us start to mealt. I amwith Arachne. 25.5 lordy, and I was hoping the clouds meant a break, but not yet though we had a quick shower that turned just as quickly into vapour.

Lol

I don't think anyone is built for 45degree C temperatures ... I damn near faint at temperatures about 35degC.

I get sweaty on a cold chilly winter day I'm always overheating ... must be that peculiar scottish, german & austrian ancestry

/me sweats like a sausage butcher

Arrr .. most is neatly parted, with a slight bias to the left ...
At the front though, is a small clump of hair that considers itself a windmill & tends to stick out in all directions

Re: Whinge about your day thread!

Finally I have something to whine about....First, I didn't take a lunch break at work so that I could leave early, and ended up leaving at my normal time. Second, about 5 minutes after I left work, as I was driving about 80 mph down the interstate, the serpentine belt on my car snapped, leaving me with an overheating car and no power steering. Somehow I managed to get within walking distance of a parts store and parked it, and ended up walking about 2 miles each way in work boots, giving me blisters in the process. This is the worst day I've had in a long time. I could go without another one anytime soon.

I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness.

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.

The truth can be found here http://jhtalisman.blogspot.com/

The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear. - Stephen King, intro to "The Body."

Re: Whinge about your day thread!

Well I can't whinge about the weather it's cooled down abit. Instead I'll whinge as I have to put washing out. It's nerve racking when you live on the 10th (11th) floor of a tower black and you aren't very fond of heights.

debro your lucky thanks to my heritage I have three colours in my hair, blonde, brown and ginger it gives me a nice honey colour but I can't have it treated or it turns out a lovely shade of carrot, literally. The only part of me that is totally ginger is my facial hair.

Re: Whinge about your day thread!

Talking of washing, I'll whinge because my washing machine door is broken. Long-term whinge that, though...but it'll be fixed soon. Mums having boyfriends can come in handy sometimes

Great that the weather's cooler today, though

My hair hasn't been its natural colour since I was about 10, LOL...although it's growing out naturally at the moment (dark brown).

Not a whinge about the day, just keeping my fingers crossed that I can get a 'flier' (leave early) from work tomorrow (Thu 15th) and get to the pub in time so as to catch the start of the England game (5pm BST)

Re: Whinge about your day thread!

Not much of a whinge ... but a good laugh .....

There have been ongoing issues with a lighting control system in a store ..... and I had a chat to the electrician to clear out all the existing logs & the lighting control PC was re-booted on friday the 9th ....

This morning (the 15th June) our Electrician called to tell me that the security guards commented that the lighting didn't come on this morning at the scheduled time.

.... my usual response ... send me the logs ....

I check the logs of the program & the comms server .. the comms server seems to have connection issues from the instant it started ......

So I call up and ask ... has it been working at all since last week? It seems to have communications issues since it was turned on ....

He checks the PC ... oops, forgot to plug the lighting control system back into the lighting communications module ..... problem solved (for now)

I don't know what's worse .. the fact our electrician didn't plug the PC back into the lighting system, or the fact it took 6 days for the security guards to notice it wasn't working...

Hahahahahahaha!

Yours truly, in Wonderland ......

Well done, Debro - you just cheered up my day ...whinge about to start...

My printer just packed in. Won't feed any paper through - photo paper, bog-standard plain paper, you name it.

Dusted it, blasted it through with compressed air...nada.

I'm not a happy bunny

(One light at the end of the tunnel could be that it *might* still be under warranty...have to dig out the receipt, when I can be bothered).

On the bright side, if it's out of warranty .... you can take out your frustration with a baseball bat!

Don't waste time though as they may try the "It's out of warranty..." excuse. You caould try and use the consumer protection act under the reaseonable expectaition clause. It would be easier if you just fin out fast if it is under warrranty. It's amazing how mine "pack in" just before the warranty runs out, thankfully the do send out a new one to replace them.

Now on to whinging. There are some pillocks that realy get on my nerves, and I can't stand hypocrasy (I know I have most probably spelt that wrong, I may be a qualified typist, I am not a dictionary though). I wonder what it would be like to blow up the housing office? Nah sod it where's my stress ball.
