Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Welcome to jordanmorgan101 - but you can tell us more than that! We have the 'Say Hi...' thread in the Newbie forum where you can briefly sign in and introduce yourself, but here's your chance to let it all go in the Living Room . Partners, animals, food, ... pretty much everything about yourself, what makes your day, etc; and what this mysterious expertise in the digital world is.

Actually, just kidding . Only as much as you feel comfortable with

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Hi, My name is Jon. I live in northern Ohio with my wife and daughter. I work as an Electrician at the largest scaffold manufacture in the U.S., Austrailia and England. I dig all kinds of music from rock to Bach. I always say "If it ain't got wires attached to it I don't touch it". I'm 50+ roundin' the corner and headin' home. Got the nick Zappaboss from being the boss of 5 other electricians, and YES I do dig Zappa {Frank} also. I don't take life very seriously as in earlier years it did no good to worry. I found CD Freaks while doing a search on google for some ansers to a cd drive problem. I have spent at least 12 hour on the search on this site before I signed up. Excellent site and knowledgable people, I plan to spend some time here. I'm rambling so I will catch you all in the forum.

Hi everyone, I'm Erick, an amateur musician, still holding tight to the analog universe but looking to break into digital. I do know about DVD/CD creation and mastering but don't use digital programs to record music...yet. Anyway nice to see you all here. I'm from the US as well, southwest.

Oh and I dig Zappa too

Hello. I'm an IP lawyer in Silicon Valley practicing mostly patent litigation (no copyright cases yet). When I'm not at work - I enjoy playing with my kids. I also enjoy watching both American and foreign movies. Thanks for all the help you've all been over the years.

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Hi. Just following advise and stopping to post here first. I am from Wisconsin (USA). Gotta have a good sense of humor when it gets cold around here!
I have a variety of interests. I've been involved with computers since 1993 and still learning more every day. I am also a welder. And of course I am a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, even during the years they didn't do so well.
I found this forum because I am a registered user of DVDFab Platinum. I am hoping to find solution to a new snag I have encountered with the last update of 4.0.1.2

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Howdy-
I just signed up today because it seemed the right thing to do. I live in Taylor Lake Village, about 2 miles from the NASA Space Center in Texas. Before retiring, I worked for a support company in the guidance & control area for the Shuttle and Space Station programs.
Now I have a lot of free time sign up and participate in forums like this one :-). The rest of the time I'm into biking, tennis and camping.
Talk to you later.

Yes!
Your journey to discovery starts with "post a new thread" in the newbie forum.
This thread is NOT the right place to ask questions.

Makiki, welcome to CDFreaks.

I don't use DVD Fab, but check here and this spot can get you started. Here's the specific thread that's the official guide for it.

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Hey everyone! My name's Bob. I'm 29 and work as a grocery store supervisor. I co-own my home with my mom, and my grandparents and aunt live with us. We also have two dogs. I signed up to CD Freaks quite some time ago, but have yet to tap into it's endless reservoir of knowledge and expertise (I've just browsed up till now). I spend most of my time watching tv and movies, burning movies and tv series, and if I'm feeling blue, I'm more than happy to school someone in the finer points of Tetris. When I'm not allowing technology to infect my spirit and soul, I enjoy a good hike with my dog Zelda. Geocaching is my newest passion (searching for hidden items using a GPS unit, for those who don't know), although some might say I need the GPS mainly for finding my way back to the car Hope my time on this site will be spent eliminating confusion.

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Howdy all!
New here so I thought I'd drop a line. My interests are all over the place. I've been told I'm a "modern renaissance man" in that I like to do a little bit of everything. That includes building computers, home theaters, metal sculpture, home automation, published author and several esoteric pursuits (big Mythbusters fan).

As for my "handle", it refers to an obscure reference in a Robert Heinlein book, "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress". Manny, the protagonist of the book used the "vid-phone" number "mycroftxxx" to communicate with the newly self-aware computer that ran all the of the moon's systems. You'll have to read the book for the rest of the story. After all these years, it is still my favorite story.

Like many on this site, I'm in the process of transferring my library of VHS tapes that do NOT have commercial counterparts to DVD (big fan of the $5.00 Walmart DVD bin!) I'm running into the same problems many have already expressed, especially the evil Macrovision VHS "virus". I'm sure as I participate on this forum I'll get through this impediment.

See you around!

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Greetings from Australia!
It would seem that I've never posted here, not even once. So here I am.
I'm single, living out of a capital city "miles from care" the air is pure, and we're closer to the sun.
I've been in computers for over 25 years, mainly in computer hardware. I used to fix computers for a living, but, a nervous breakdown a few years back put paid to that. I've been spending my time building computers for a local charity, for the less fortunate in our society.
I'm "set in my ways" now, but im always willing to learn and meet people.
What else do you need to know?

Regards,

Louis
