Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

howdy Shel... welcome to the insanity of the living room.......its nice to have some more southern women in here these overseas men....are hard to handle at times and we already know that the US men are 3 hand fuls..... Sorry to hear about the loss of your parents and hubby....but congrats on the decision to move in with your boyfriend...that takes some courage...I'm not sure if i could ever adapt to NYC.....big cities and small town girls like me don't mix well for long periods of time

anyway......STICK around....these people are not only helpful but friendly too

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Thank you for the welcome . Yes, men are hard to handle most times but we women can be just as difficult if not more, or at least I can be anyway, lol. I think me moving will be a good thing but luckily it's not New York City, just a small village in New York state called Schuylerville . It'll be like home...but not really. I don't plan on dismissing the forums and look forward to chats and advice/help from all ya'll. Thanks again.

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

I am a husband again. Born in 1976, my wife loves and respects me just as much as I love and respect her. We are very much alike.

I still feel grateful about all the encouragements and blessings you all gave to me since I joined CDFreaks in 2002 and especially during the happy and painful days. We are both unreligious but I am content that I have another life with the most perfect girl in this world and, for that, I will love our creator and the world forever.

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

I figured I would actually post here, since I've been all over the top 5 most recent games in the Games Up subbie...& since I've been moderately more active on the forum in general...so here's a snippet 'bout me:

My name is Albert. [Bet most of you didn't see that coming, unless you paid attention to my sig]. Typically called Al only by my family [although some of my friends are calling me that]. Other aliases are AlEd, Al-B, Albz, Eddie, Edward, Alberto, Al-bit, and Albertonka.

I'm 17 [July birthday]. Last year of high school, gonna be 17 all the way through [while most of my friends will be 18]. Major crusher once I find someone to crush on, typically nice, and typically passive. [Occassionally passive aggressive.] I'm probably one of the few people that live where I live to like Japanese music and the culture, but dislike anime, etc, and NOT have any Asian heritage at all.

Tryin' to head up to New York for college--want to go to Columbia U.--for a double major. Possible majors are Middle Eastern/Asian Studies, Mathematics, Teaching, Computer Engineer, & [for the safe job] accounting. I love math and electronics, although science isn't too terribly far behind. Love to add new stuff to my computer and figure out how stuff works with my computer.

Often, I am a great troubleshooter, but oftentimes I can be totally off track in my thinking. I am far from a blonde, but I have plenty of moments that you could call blonde.

One odd thing about me: I have U.S. size 16 shoes, equivalent to a size 52 Birkenstock. I get it from my dad, although mine are larger, oddly enough.

& as long as no one takes me outside of my comfort zone, I usually want to stay in one place for a long time. But when my comfort is even potentially comprimised, such as by asking a personal question, I am more than ready to go someplace else until my shields are back up.

Oh, and, my favorite brand is Sony. [Anyone who has seen me post scans knows that I use a nice amount of Sony media]. My desktop is a Sony product, my speakers are Sony...most things in my room are Sony. [Been on the Sony kick since about '94, when I first saw all the "cool stuff" they had to offer. I was only 4 then, but still...]

Wallace0134 has been my main screenname for the longest time. It stands for My last name + being thirteen + looking forward to '04. I was about 12 or 11 when I made it, though, and recently I have started using Wallace162x11 [or 172x11]. [Age I couldn't wait to be or am + when 4th year of college is scheduled to begin if all goes according to plan.]

.... that's me.

People tell me I look older than I am all the time, and that I can be quite- young-adultish at times, but that's the first I've heard of someone giving me such a complement as to think I was in my thirties. Thanks!

Thanks for the official welcome, gang.

Hi im nathan, im 31 and a grandfather! I try to help anyone i can, with anything i can, just because i can. LOL that sounds so silly reading it back! As for what i do thats quite simple, i am a pipe fitter, who enjoys a quite drink and an evening in front of the computer chatting to friends.
My user name is nothing special, it is derived from my first name and the last two letters of my last name. I reside in a place called Pembrokeshire, Wales UK.
Anything else feel free to ask about

Re: Pull Up A Chair.....

Well....

I'm not fond of the term 'lurker' as it has many negative connotations about it, however, I would say that it does describe my behavior over the past couple of years that I've known of these forums.

None of you know me, but I know many of you. Some of you may see me from time to time outside your windows late at night...oh...ahem....I mean on other forums on the net.

Most forums do not impress me, however cdfreaks is the exception. I see intelligent, well-thought-out discussion on these forums and very little stupidity (well, compared to others).

Since I've been perusing cdfreaks, I've laughed, I cried, and I cursed the heavens in futility over how much there is to learn about the art of burning. It's been fun though.

I have a pretty good collection of burned material now, somewhere close to 500 dvd's. A paltry lot compared to many on these forums, I'm sure, but a nice stash for my own purposes.

I am now, and have always been very fond of data storage. I remember the first time I heard of the home CD burner. I drooled. Of course, that was back when I was on a 166 megahz machine with a 2 gig hard drive. I now have over a terabyte of hard drive capacity, but it will never be enough for me.

Anyway, before I ramble too much, I wanted to extend my appreciation to the community for maintaining such a quality place in what is an otherwise cultural wasteland.

There, now I'm not lurking anymore.
