Found someone on the road with a flat tire, I had a DC compressor in my car; inflated the tire and escorted them to a service station.

After a few mishaps and a little time spent distanced, I re-established my friendship with someone who I was REALLY good friends with a couple of years ago. It's not perfect, but it's a start.

I also got my midterm report for school....all perfect grades [104, 100, O.K., 100].

[Note: The O.K. is for Yearbook, in which we really can't get our grade until it's all said and done...]

Yesterday I resurrected a bricked PSP for a customer where I work. I've gotten to be in pretty close with this fellow and he was telling me how his son had won an eBay auction for a PSP, but they didn't read the auction page properly. It was sold as-is.

Thanks to those very clever PSP hackers, I was able to reprogram his NAND chip and bring the thing back to life.

I then showed him what mine was capable of, and he flipped out when he saw Punch Out playing on it. I asked him if he wanted me to make that so on his, and he said most assuredly.

I installed the custom firmware and then asked him if he thought his kids would be pleased. He said they wouldn't know because he was keeping it for himself now! I laughed out loud very hard, from the bottom of my belly.

As I paid not a cent for the method I used to do this, I didn't want anything from him for it. I was very happy to do this for him.

Hehe, that's pretty awesome.

I wonder how long it really will be before Papa really does give up the PSP to his son.

Well, he said he was serious that he wanted one for himself now that he's seen the homebrew capabilities. I'm supposed to call him on Friday, I think to help him put some ROMs on his memory stick.

Someone referred me to my current job. They had never met me or really spoken to me. But they used their name to vouch for me based on a mutual friend. I got the job, and didn't meet her until my first day of work.

Mine has been more of a victory in the personal struggles/addictions department. Couple that with the fact that I am dating someone for the first time in almost two years and there is a lot for me to be happy about right now.

i was going through some of Brayden's clothes .....6 big totes full ..... and wondering what to do with them.....then a friend of mine was telling me about a family who the parents are on disability and have 2 children 19 year old daughter and 18 year old son ....who have both recently had babies..and on top of all that new turmoil...the father's sister was killed in a car accident and left a 3 month old baby with them....

So Saturday night....i washed everything again...just to make sure they smelled clean..and called her.....
she was crying on the phone when i said i have 6 totes of baby boy clothes if you want them and a few other items.... like a play pen and a thingie to set him in when you give him a bath 2 strollers and an extra high chair.....so she is coming over today to get them....i can't wait...it gives me more room to buy Brayden some fall clothes..and i feel great about helping someone out....not expecting anything in return...

Hehehe! You now have the kind of corporate job where you're getting share options... next they'll be offering you a directorship


Anyway, back on topic.
While I was away recently, my neighbor cut the lawns and dug the garden in my front yard, which was really nice of him. So, this weekend we returned the good deed and cut, fed and aerated the lawn, edged all the borders and generally tidied up for him while he was out.

now that would have been super sweet to come home to Prof....
a nice and clean yard...

I had a bit of a personal achievement today too: I, who know sod all about networking, managed to get my two PCs networked (fully tested with file transfers and that) in under ten minutes. Plain old Cat6 cable though, not that fancy wireless.

First time I've felt really proud of myself for ages.

Of course you'd use CAT6/5 cable - that's the purrrfect solution for you!

This was three weeks ago but what the heck, I'll tell you anyway.

A friend of mine who likes to paint, but doesn't have a lot of time for painting, had been working on a painting of a dragon just for me. After painting for months and (discarding an attempt she didn't like) she and her husband and kids came over to present me with this painting of a dragon flying through space holding the Earth in its claws.

It's great to have someone create an original piece of art just for me. I loved it!
