| Re: Lets ban to stop Spyware While I support this idea in general........I find the whole concept........meaning nooffence to you Xtacy........rather like trying to scoop pee out of a soiled swimming pool. my opinion is that whats trying to be done here...is do what the free ware/payware progs already out there already do, but better. Cool, hope it works. I used to believe....still do actually, that alot of worms can be circumvented by simply not installing WinOS in the default directory. Jackasses on my network still download crap like weatherbug and bonzi buddy. I wish you luck...... ![]()

| Re: Lets ban to stop Spyware MAJOR UPDATE Well... okay its not really an update... ITS DONE I will post about it later, IN FULL, maybe in the software forum But for now, here is the completed list of a Total of 1891 entries of common known websites with spyware tracking cookies. I questions some however, as I will reach out to others for advice on them. For those of you waiting, here is the full .reg file, that is all up to date as much as possible as of 09/05/2004 (M/D/Y format). NEW REG FILE (only 467KB and NO install required... just double click it) So far, every ad-aware and spy-bot has come up 100% clean for me, on all my testing PC's, as well as some friends PC's. I hope more people who use IE can help me with this and try it, and report immediately if thye get any spyware I may have missed. I also made a file to make this global, a small text file, from which you can copy/paste the sites into the Windows Hosts file and now any browser you use will avoid these malicious sites. Thanks to Portmac and Oleg for their major contributions and massive file lists that took me days and endless hours to sort out. O0ooPss... almost forgot... I question whether the following websites need have cookis blocked? Code: monster.com ebay.com yahoo.com mp3.com tomshardware.com zdnet.com msn.com lycos.com monster.com barnsandnoble.com tripod.com deviantart.com microsoft.com creative.com If anyone knows, please let me know if I should exclude them from the list, as of now I see no malicious cookies from those sites and plan to exclude them in my next update, which will be soon because this is all I have left to do. Thanks to those who contributed!!!

| Re: Lets ban to stop Spyware I could not login to both my yahoo and netscape mail accounts due to the disabled cookies in the reg file - i had to manually delete them from the banned url database. Hope this helps.

| Re: Lets ban to stop Spyware yea I forgot to add netscape to that list I had never personally had problems with any of the sites listed in my text above. I think I will omit them. Its always easy to add 3 or 4 things to the list, than the hardcore backend job I did of near 2000 of them... all freaking manually btw. Thanks Hemi. Thanks Dragon Fury for the suggestion as well, my only concern is, how would people know what to search for, I mean you get a reg file right, and you really have no clue what it does, most people would be concerned to simply add it. I wanted to share it with my fellow cd freaks here first. I really wish more people would use it, because I could sure use the feedback, and keep it updated. i specifically need more forein users (ie: users if uk, cz, fr etc... sites because I feel if any, I lack those) Thanks again everyone, look for a better rundown in the software section soon, and I will post the most recent .reg file with those few omitions within tthe next 24hours.
