| Sorry to bother you guys, but its just a quick question: I needed a new CD reader (fed up of looooonnng access times) so i went out and bought a nice Sony 40x. Lovely. Quiet, quick, reliable, great. But its not a variable speed reader (or at least NERO says its not) which is bloody useless to me if i want to use it for CDR. So hence i am now back in the market for a CD reader once more and want to know if anyone recommends or wants to disuade me from buying a certain reader. IDE only. I fancy either: ASUS 40x AOPEN 40x AOPEN 48x Anyone know anything? Are they relable? Quick? Varibale speed? Do they sound like a Chinook taking off? Any help would be cool. Cheers guys Cheese |

| Wel.... meebee Asus, but i love my Aopen 32x. Never reading problems and quiet. Don't know what the aopen 40x or 48x will do, but the 32x runs like a train. [This message has been edited by The Force (edited 28 September 1999).] |
