Friday the 13th

Today it's Friday the 13th! Beware!!!

According to WikiPedia:

Quote:
The origin of the Friday the 13th superstition has been linked to the belief that there were 13 people at The Last Supper of Jesus, who was crucified on Good Friday, but it probably originated in medieval times. It has also been linked to the fact that a lunisolar calendar must have 13 months in some years, while the solar Gregorian calendar and lunar Islamic calendar always have 12 months in a year. Another suggestion is that the belief originated in a Norse myth about twelve gods having a feast in Valhalla. The mischievous Loki gate-crashed the party as an uninvited 13th guest and arranged for Hod, the blind god of darkness, to throw a branch of mistletoe at Balder, the god of joy and gladness. Balder was killed instantly and the Earth was plunged into darkness and mourning as a result.
What do you think of Friday the 13th?

A red full moon on Friday the 13th close to vampiric wolves. Now that's a story for your grandchildren!

Re: Friday the 13th

I never cared about the day either, but today was the first time I actually experienced it.

This morning, my girl's dog died. Then, we got two bills (both wrong), one of them telling we have to pay quite an amount of money to our energy company within 7 days (otherwhise we'll be cut off). Thing is that we always pay our bills immediately so this is clearly some mistake in their paperwork...

Re: Friday the 13th

The use of the number 13 is mainly superstition and for sure a case of triskaidekaphobia.

lets see...my dad came out of a semi coma state on Friday and was about himself enough to tell everyone in the family goodbye....so I count it a blessing ..not superstious...

Indeed it's very very comforting to have the chance to say goodbye to one another.
The day before my grandma passed away, i had the extremely fortunate chance to be with her and tell her i'm okay with it as long as she had no pain.
