Blu-ray or HD-DVD?

I'm guessing Blu-Ray, but it all depends on what format the porn industry will use.

Blue-ray .... those fast moving high detail closeups need high bitrate and lots of storage capacity!

HD-DVD just can't compete .....

Who knows ... maybe the expandability & extra capacity of blueray will spark a 3D video revolution

Porn doesnt sell by quality, it sells by the pricetag. Blu-ray doesnt look likely to compete in that sense.

One thing's for sure...I'm not buying any of this new crap until they get everything sorted out. I never want to be saddled with another Betamax (although, technically, Betamax gave a superior picture) and I'm sick and tired of the electronics giants acting like spoiled brats with our money!

I refuse to buy HD-DVD .. 15GB's is a pi$$-poor excuse for an improvement in storage capacity, it's only approx double DVD capacity!

1.44MB->100MB zip->650/700MB CD->4.5GB/8.5GB ->HD-DVD / Bluray

HD's double their capacity every 24 months & DVD's were common 6 years ago! That corresponds to a capacity exceeding 36GB's.
Even blu-ray is a bit of a cop-out, but at least it makes a pretense of increasing storage capacity (with additional layers).

HD-DVD is an obsolete (and inferior) technology before it's even released.
I hope people understand this before flocking out to buy a mass-produced inferior technology that has deliberately flooded the market, again.

I would have to disagree. High quality, high resolution porn is just as important as the sheer volume of porn you have. While not all your porn need be the higest quality (you do have to keep quantities high), some should be the best quality possible.
(notice what you get if you take quan off the above word ).

Make fun of it all you want, but the porn industry killed BetaMax and made VHS popular. I wouldn't be surprised if the same would happen in the new format wars.

I'm not making fun of it at all, I have a lot of porn (and actually have one dvd backed up onto a verbatim dl disk (just one lol, on dual layer anyway). I always like the coment on the tv show scrubs, if they outlawed porn on the internet, there would only be one website left, and it would be named, bring back the porn!!!!! If enough consumers want porn, it could very well effect new formats, and as we all know, enough consumers want porn!!!!!

And yes, when it comes to our favourites, HD-DVD-R/BD-R (???) we can be quite sure that the format giving us consumers the best options will be victorious.
