Maybe he should go into work and play those clips from that movie over and over again and see if he gets the hint. | |

Great film tho... I saw it on sale in HMV for C$10 this week, and am sorely tempted to get a copy...

| Re: Do you hate your job? The latest... one afternoon he comes by and says, Him: "I'm debuting a new shirt tomorrow. You'll probably think it's gay." Me: silence The next day he comes in wearing a pink dress shirt. I don't get the big deal?? Then later that day I find out he told a rather attractive young lass that he considers himself a "renaissance man" because he wore a pink shirt and wrote a football book (unpublished and rumoured to be very poor). ![]() |

| Re: Do you hate your job? I don't hate what I do. I hate some of the administrators and some of the board members (past and present). Being a teacher has been a great experience. Helping students experience the joy of music is what keeps me going. On the other hand, the BS that has wrapped itself around our educational system is the reason for its failure. Spend time with my Superintendent and Business Administrator and you will understand what I’m talking about. These guys are so far up each others a— and the a— of certain board members they have forgotten what it’s all about. Not to mention the Super. is a 7’ tall, 350lbs., ex-jock bully. He and the former Super. (both close friends) turned my school district into a political machine. My wish is to have them all get caught with their hands in the cookie jar and be publicly humiliated.

__________________ My Current Phenomenal System I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness. Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air. The truth can be found here http://jhtalisman.blogspot.com/ The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear. - Stephen King, intro to "The Body." |

| Re: Do you hate your job? I'm back to a life where one stays over 20 hours a day @work. I'll be working (for money, not communities or anything else this time) about 140 hours each week. Officially, the company requires just 40 hours. Unfortunately, there's no bed, no sofa, nothing even resembling one, no friend, no collegue to chat with from time to time, just some coffee and cookies. I can't use the chairs for sleeping either. I need to make 1M asap. I'm not just married to work. I sold my soul to a satan. Somehow the new boss dislikes some things about me. Like wanting to use multiple monitors for work and trying all kinds of newest programs. Maybe it was my mistake not to have warned about such things. He is a little over 40 and very much Korean. I hope he can prove himself. So far, he's been dumb, slow, narrow, shallow... ![]()

| Re: Do you hate your job? Hrmm, I don't hate my job per se, but I'm certainly NOT satisfied... I applied, interview went great, but ended up not getting the position and being made a temp! The 2 persons that were hired ahead of me don't really know anything about computers (I'm a tech), but they knew ppl that worked there so that's how they got in. In the beginning I had to show them how to use most of the programs and stuff... it was VERY annoying to be training the people that are hired ahead of you and you're a lowly temp! The director is a laid back, cool dude about my age, but his assistant is fake smiling, spying, backstabber who doesn't trust me...even though he's the one that cannot be trusted. He loves playing politics and talking shit about the people that we troubleshoot for—it's just very annoying to have someone like that over you... The manager is a complete ninny! She cannot even build a computer herself, yet she's the manager of the techs?! I/anyone else competent in the field could do her job with 1 week or less training... I get micro-managed and talked to like I have no clue about what's going on, even though I know more than she does 10 fold. So I just have to smile and bare with it and pretend like she's doing me a favor by requiring me to run everything I do by her, before it gets done. Oh and she's got VERY bad dandruff! ... Most of the time I sit in my office (and that's a whole story on itself)... Okay I'll have to explain this also: I was placed in the corner storage room as my "office," completely away from any human contact and with no windows at all. A constant freezing cold blast of air comes from the top duct that I have now taped off and stuffed with paper So the whole dept gets a complete furniture renovation and what a break I got! I got a VERY nice L-shaped cube that's a good 5'11" high! Complete privacy! Now when people come in they have to walk around it and turn a short corner to even see me! Well that was great until my midget manager complained and wanted it taken down or chopped up so that she could see me as she walked in to annoy me with some lame task! Soon word spread about how nice my new "office" (still in the storage room) is, and the assist-admin now makes off color comments about how he's going to move me out of there and take the office for himself... others in the group have made comments about how nice it is and what not.... they didn’t say nothing before the new upgrade…Now people are gunning to have my cube dismantled and shortened so when you enter the room people can see me. That unfortunately leads to HIGH amounts of distraction, since it STILL is the storage room where people frequently come in and out making all kinds of noise looking for supplies and rummaging through stuff etc... No WAY I can get my mind-numbing work down with people in and out, doors opening and slamming constantly.About my work... most of the time I'm in charge of editing and cataloging photos which is as all boring as hell and really puts a strain on my eyes. Thousands of photos and no end in sight to finishing them... doesn't really leave me with a set of goals to strive toward... the other time it's doing help desk for users that are highly intelligent, but too lazy to google most of the problems they bug us with... so I sit and pray that nobody submits a request that I have to answer. Help desk is just a nightmare job in the world of tech... So between straining my eyes out and helping lazy noobs, and being micro-managed by this dolt lady who thinks that my 2 degrees lend nothing toward me being able to do my job properly w/o needing her approval... I HIGHLY DISLIKE my job... no benefits, no paid vacation/sick days, no insurance, stressful work, and no real room for advancement in the department. Oh and the pay is NOT very competitive with others doing the same type of work.... Yeah ummm I need to find a new position... shame b/c I get along with most of the people I work around and in administration. Gawd I could write on and on about this, but that would just be futile....... WTF couldn't I have been a wealthy kid– working for my Pop's corporation... lol ![]()
