To access and modify the +R tables a critical patch is applied to the firmware. This patch gets enabled and released only for firmwares that are tested with this patch. I do not want to see dead drives because of using MCSE, so you have to wait until I have verified the patch is save with B7U9.
This reminds me of something... I still need an alpha tester for the 1610 B8T9
