Listen, you have a limited budget for a media room.... I need to know a few things:

1. What are you planning to do in the room, (movies, family, TV, Internet....etc)
2. what type of flooring does it have, (wood, carpet, rugs, concrete)
3. what type of furniture are you going to have in the room
4. Are you planning (and i hope you are) a 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby Digital souround system
5. What equipment do you already have
6. How flexible is your wife's $10,000 budget...

Just a few things to get started before you blow the whole wadd on a plasma TV.... If you want to set up a NICE room you are going to need to plan ahead and allocate money to many different things to make it work the way you want it to...

I have set up a number of Home Theater Rooms for friends and Planning is MOST important.

I can almost guaranty you that if you need to buy everthing still with the 10k.... then a plasma TV is OUT OF THE QUESTION.....

Also, and good thing for you, a 20 X 30 room is too small for a 60 inch view screen.... It will look much better with a 50 inch view of what ever type of TV you decide..... Larger doesn't mean better....
